It was a pretty painless experience for me, but I have heard of some horror stories where people were contacted because things didn't exactly add up. I think as long as you are who you said you were on your application, you've got nothing to worry about. They might contact you to confirm a thing or two, but you'll be fine.

The whole process took about 2 months from start to finish. They didn't keep me looped in at all so don't expect to hear too much from them. I got one email letting me know that they received everything they needed from me and another once the process was complete.

ReVera contacted me because under my employment, I listed a bonus of $3000 in my application. They called my HR and evidently HR told them I didn't receive a bonus. I had to resolve this discrepancy....

I went through ADP and looked through all my paystubs - turns out my bonus was $6000; so I sent ReVera a pdf of my paystubs and things were good after that.

Congrats to all the admits!

I'm a current student and can help answer any questions you may have. Also feel free to contact current students through the official means: https://tepper.cmu.edu/prospective-stude ... nt-student

Lastly, here's LinkedIn's rankings for management consultant (if you're into that) https://www.linkedin.com/edu/rankings/u ... s-ctg-card

Hi Farful,

Just wanted to get a sense of an approximate investment and ROI.
I'm IN but no scholarship so need to plan out my finances before I decide to accept.

I'm an international candidate. I am trying to progress my career in the Technology field.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Cheers

Hi Ujjwal,

Take a look at this link: the-true-value-of-your-mba-64239.html
You can download an Excel spreadsheet and play around with numbers to see your ROI for bschool.
It takes into consideration the costs of school, your internship salary, future salary + growth, etc.

Let me know if you have any questions beyond this.

Congrats to all admitted guys!

I had my interview last week, R3 applicant, and wanted to post my experience.

Interview was over Skype with Emily from the Admissions team. Fairly conversational, she set the context right from the start. She asked a bunch of questions and took notes most of the times, so it was a bit distracting, but to be fair to her, she warned me about this. Following were the questions asked:

1. Walk me through you resume.
2. Why MBA right now?
3. As a team member, what has been your most significant achievement?
4. What was the one instance when you had to take an unpopular decision and why?
5. Since you have worked with both US and India teams, what are the major cultural differences in them?
6. What did you learn from working with US team? How did you adapt to working with them?
7. What does your current firm do?
8. As part of your client's strategy, how does your firm help them? (This was something I expected probably in a job interview, but was nevertheless prepared)
9. As part of the project and the client, what is the particular role you play?

As you can see, there were a fair bit of questions squeezed into about 25 minutes. She left about 5 minutes in the end to answer my questions and ended on a very happy note.

Fingers crossed and waiting for 15th May now!
