Did anyone submit their applications b/w the 5th and the 12th Oct ? I received an email from Tepper saying that if I submitted by the 12th I would still be considered for R1. I wanted to see if there was anyone else in the same boat as me here.

I did. Both my recommenders were out on official business. Got back on 10th. One submitted on 11th and other submitted on 12th.

It was quite embrassing to ask the admissions people that question about grace period for recommendations.

When did yours submit?

I submitted my application on 12th as well. Um, finmaster, Tepper requires just one recommendation, right? How come you submitted two?

Anyway, I did get considered for R1. I got an interview invite and booked a Skype interview slot on Nov. 21st because of limited availability of interview slots (no other dates were available for Skype interviews!).

Can anyone throw some light on how this works? I'm sure they haven't had a chance to look at my application yet, it's only been 2 days since I submitted it. I'm concerned that my interview slot is just 3 weeks before the final decision date!

May be this post helps? - https://gmatclub.com/forum/calling-all-tepper-cmu-applicants-2015-intake-class-of-173847-60.html#p1426312

Basically I understood that all applications were divided among adcom people and based on a cursory read the first round of invites were sent out. As they go through more apps, more invites will come. They will likely sit in the last week and square out the entire pool then, so may be interviewing towards the end is good? :P

I was unsure whether any of my recommenders will be able to do it in time because of our then-upcoming-release. I added both of them just to be sure. I knew my recos would be delayed. I needed an option to fall back upon, in case one of them couldn't do it.

I was fortunate to have them both do it before 12th.

guys, can anyone comment on this -
I received a mail from the admissions team; they need my grading scale to process the application (Indian Applicant). Is anyone else facing the same issue ?

I think they need a formula based on which your GPA is calculated. I had mine on the back of my transcripts.
Hope this helps

Tepper Interview Debrief:

Scheduled the interview on the 14th October with Emily Archambeault.

She was very kind and started off with a pep talk about the weekends, travel plan etc. We even discussed about my marriage and came to know that she is about to get married very soon. She told me that she had not gone through my complete application and just had my resume with her.

Then started the typical conversation. Would list down the questions.

1. Why MBA
Related to it my present experience and aspired role. How MBA will helpme and How Tepper will help me
2. Why Tepper
Interdisciplinary approach
Nobel laurets
Consulting Club- Boot camp, Sunday Night interviews, Consulting Trek
Small class size. Stron relationship with faculty and students.
3. Job roles and Responsibilities
4. What difficulty is your organization facing
5. One incident where you worked with senior team. How did you work and how did you learn
6. Cultural Differences faced in organization
7. What if not Management Consulting
8. Conflicting Situation. How you handled it
9. Extracurricular activities.
10. Name of students you interacted with. How was the experience.
11. Do you have anything to ask.
Asked about the typical day at Tepper and about Scholarship.
She told that she would connect me with the students and the financial aid team

I think that is pretty much it. It lasted for half an hour exact.
Feel free to ask any questions. Would be glad to help out.

Result: Admitted in Round 1
