does anyone know if it looks "worse" to do a skype interview? I would prefer in-person, but would like to get this done before end of October.

Judging by the fact that the majority of the interviews available in the first month are via Skype, I'd say it doesn't make a difference. On the other hand it would be nice to hear from someone close to the source.

Just got my invite. Pretty Excited.

Email came in at 5pm. Note: My application page wasn't updated, so I recommend you guys still out there just wait on the email. (I've been maniacally refreshing my Booth application status since many are reporting that they only saw the update on the application and havent yet recieved an email)

This is an exceprt from my email.

"If you reside in the United States, we encourage you to join us in Pittsburgh for an on-campus interview as it is the admission committee's preference."

I think Tepper is well aware that they are often a safety school for many people shooting for an M7+Duke+Ross+Haas ect. All schools want to raise their yield so they definitely favor candidates who clearly demonstrate that they want to attend this school. Similar to how Tuck is well aware they are an Harvard plan B for many applicants. One of the essays for Tepper seemed consistent with this line of thought.

Hopefully in the next day or two I'll hear back from at-least 1 other school so I can plan some visits. I really don't feel like dropping the cash to visit all of them.

Good luck everyone.

Invited. Will schedule it for next week, before the Duke result, else I'll just have to cancel it if I get in there. I would rather get it done before that result. What say guys? Anyone else in the same dilemma?

OK turns out only 19/20 are available before the Duke result. Since I am out next week, I guess I will schedule it for sometime in November first week.

I am a re-applicant, so here are my thoughts on the Tepper Interview from last year.

Usual questions asked. It is with an AdCom, so they will not ask questions specific to industry etc. Just the standard Profile, Why MBA, ST/LT Goals, Why Tepper, Strength/Weakness, Leadership Story, Conflict story, Team work.

The interview is short, mine ended in dot 30 minutes, so you should try and keep answers short. Other than this, it's a pretty standard interview and very conversational. The AdCom is highly experienced, they read thousands of files, so you can't really beat around the bush.

Also, one thing to note, I am not sure if the Tepper interview is blind. I think the AdCom has your entire file, at least that's the sense I got last year. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Does it make a difference if I schedule my interview with the Admissions representative I met at the MBA Tour in Delhi. I understand that all the interviewers might be equally friendly but there is a slight chance that the rep I am talking about above might remember me from the Tour. So should I go ahead and book a slot with her ?

This is the first year I am applying to these programs so I cannot call myself an expert, but what I would say is, do anything possible to give yourself an edge.
