Sorry. Tuck is an amazing program and I am a huge fan. You can still apply and try your chances - no harm in that but have other options.
no need to apologize! I was just thinking from a diversity point of view. I figured writing about Tech (which has been my R1 story) would make me stand out at Tuck since most would talk about Finance/Consulting. But your way of looking at it is just as valid..
Bb is absolutely right in that you should be looking at the school's strengths and typical industry composition of a graduating class. However, unless your chosen industry is completely out of Tuck's scope, it's unlikely it will hamper your chances.
Specifically, it depends on the way you shape your story and how you communicate to them that you believe you can get the right education at the school. For example, Tuck has Operations and Management Science as part of its electives, and courses include data-driven analytics and decision-modelling. These would undoubtedly be helpful for a tech-related career.
