Does anyone know if apps are reviewed and interviews handed out on a first come first serve basis? I turned in my R2 app way in advance, around Thanksgiving. I'm hoping they're randomly reviewing applications, and trying not to worry too much

Hi guys,
Reapplicant here.
I also got the email on 9th.. Hoping for an early interview invite.

Also, do we have around 15 days for the interview scheduling ?

Deleted my previous response bc I got confused with another school.

When I looked at the interview times it looks like it extended through end of January (28th-ish), which is about 2 1/2 weeks.

Got invited for an interview. 3.8 GPA, 740 GMAT (50q,40v). Real Estate background, applied on Jan 7.

Does anyone know what percent of those invited to interview are admitted? I couldn't find that info for UCLA.

Good luck everyone!

Hi,

Got an interview invite today. A bit troubled about the hard copies requested. I cant get a copy of the degree certificate attested. (living far off) and there is no by post service from my undergrad school for degree as it is not a commonly requested item by alumni. Will the hard copy of transcripts be enough? Context : Indian, IIT.

Grateful if anyone can give me an idea.

Avik.

I think you can send them your originals and ask them to return them when they have verified it. I think many students did the same last year. UCLA admissions is very understanding in this regard. I suggest you drop a mail to them explaining your situation and highlighting that you can send them the originals provided they can return them back to you in few days.

Same here buddy there is nothing we can do but wait. I think if there is a next batch of admits to be released before the deadline then we will come to know. I think students who are admitted will get to hear on 26 th and 27th and some one 28th but rejections would all be on 28th only.

I guess a waitlist is the best result that we R1 applicants can hope for!!

No I don't think that is the case. As per my understanding only students with scholarships got early admits. In my opinion the admissions team is currently evaluating the candidates of R2 and then make R1 admit offers based on how the apps have stacked up for R2..

Applied on 1/4 (R2). Invited to interview on 1/7. Interviewed on 1/13 on campus with a 2nd year student. Interview debrief...

Tell me about yourself.
Why do you want an MBA? Why Anderson?
Tell me more about your goals (I discussed short term goals). Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
What do you want to work on at Anderson?
What is a failure you experienced at work?
Leadership/teamwork
Any questions for me?

The interview was very conversational! He had a lot of follow up questions about my volunteer work. He had a few questions about my transferable skills since I come from a “nontraditional” background. We discussed specific companies and brands I would like to work with. He was very open and honest with my questions and throughout the interview. It was my first b-school interview with a student instead of admissions and it was actually a lot of fun! I feel like it gave extra insight into the school.

Last year it looks like R2 applicants who interviewed in January got their decisions on February 19th! Hoping I'll have a hard decision to make :-)

I don't think there will be another early batch of admits sent out before the deadline. The rest of the admit notifications will come out on the day of or day before the decision deadline. Also, at least it was my experience last year, but there were several students admitted on the decision deadline day that receive scholarships.

Awesome. Congrats on the interview.

Sounds like UCLA is spitting out their invites quickly. At this rate they'll have all their invites out by the end of the month. I guess that makes it less of a waiting game...don't get an invite by end of the month, I've got my answer. :(
