I've actually been seeing a lot of people meandering in the hallways getting ready for their interviews, so maybe that's not an accurate snapshot.
However, I do have a number of classmates that were waitlisted right off the bat and did not get interviews until 2nd or 3rd round. It happens! Once notification happens, and if you have been waitlisted, my suggestion is to start trying to network your way into Marshall to get an interview/acceptance. It shows you know how to play the Trojan game and emphasizes your interest in the MBA program -- I know it works, because I did it

Yes, I believe notification starts on the 18th of December.
You probably won't be receiving a call if you were not accepted. All decisions will go through email, whether you've been admitted or waitlisted or dinged.
