Applied in Jan, no word yet :|
Does Yale send out ding letters or is it a long wait till end of march?

In the past, all the results come out on the same day. Calls in the morning/afternoon ET for admits and waitlists/dings emailed out later in the day around close of business (5pm ET, 6pm ET?). Admits will also get emails "confirming" the admittance (we all like to see it in writing) with more information about accessing a portal with all sorts of information, admitted student reception dates, and more fun stuff.

aerien - Thank you for your response. Safe to assume that if one does not receive an invite by early March, that it will most likely be a ding? Or have most invites already gone out?

I have no insight into what the admissions process looks like whatsoever. All I do know is that we leave for Spring Break / International Experience / Global Network Week the weekend of Feb 28/March 1, so if you're hoping for an on-campus interview I would guess you only have the rest of February to do that -- and perhaps the week of March 23rd when we get back to campus. That doesn't mean, of course, that you could have a Skype interview of some sort or an off-campus in-person interview (I know adcom traveled last year during Spring Break to some international locations) throughout the rest of February / March.

The waiting is really hard, but in the end I would urge you all not to give up hope until you have it in writing from adcom that your journey is over. This entire process has ups and downs and many nervous days in between; it's all part of the ride, but in the end -- wherever you end up -- you'll find the place you're supposed to be at.

Just got an invite 8:20pm EST.

International applicant from Nigeria. Submitted application 2minutes before deadline and paid a minute before. Huge relief since this is 1st. To others still waiting, especially those with 0 invites - keep your head up. I know that awful feeling of checking your emails and gmatclub 10 times a day.

I am also a Nigerian applicant and I am yet to get an interview. Can you share your stats please?

Without giving out too much information - upper 600's GMAT, big4, IB and PE experience - New York, Lagos, Lagos. I see you have a few interviews. Good luck with Yale.

Does anyone have any idea what is happening with Yale's invites? This is ridiculous.

I interviewed on Monday. It was a giant interview day and both students and admissions people were doing interviews. They had me interview with an admissions person instead of a student. Any thoughts on whether this is a good, bad, or neutral sign?

For those of you who have not yet interviewed, questions were very standard:
Walk me though your resume
What was it like going from a small company to a big company
Why MBA
Why Yale
What's a trend going on in your industry

I was not asked any behavioral/story questions (i.e, tell me about a time when you failed, tell me about your most meaningful leadership experience, etc.) When you're prepping, it's always a good idea to be able to name a couple of classes/professors and a couple of clubs that you like.

The longer I spend on the Gmatclub forums, the more it makes sense to me that we are indeed just a small sample out of a horde of applicants. There are probably dozens of invites sent out for each member who puts up a post here about an invite to interview. Basing our judgement on what we see on this forum may not really be apt.

No reason to lose hope though. It ain't over till it's over!

it seems weird, bc there is a definite difference in the yale forums from any other. Could gmatclubbers not like yale that much that we don't have good representation? Unless - do they require a us co-signor? IDK...but def doesn't feel like much activity here...

Was anybody on campus today? Had a lot of fun myself, would love to connect. All the other candidates seemed like pretty fun people!

I'm going to make an assumption that a higher percentage of gmatclubbers are international than the actual applicant pool. This is mostly just based on anecdotal observations of who's posting, but taking that as given, it makes sense to me that fewer students have reported interview invites as of yet. Yale students are on break for most of March, so they won't be doing on-campus interviews. Instead, the admissions team is about to fan out across the world to conduct interviews in hub locations (e.g. London, Delhi, Beijing, Sao Paolo, Mexico City). Given that they prefer on-campus interviews to be with current students, they are probably focusing on international applicants (and applicants living abroad) in the second half of the admissions cycle. We will probably see a slew of international invites next week before the admissions team begins traveling. This is not to say that they are completely done with domestic applicants; it just means the majority of the remaining invites will likely be international.

The other thing to keep in mind is that a lack of interview is actually not the end of the process - many applicants will be placed on the waitlist. I know that's not the news people want to hear, but it's something.

After submitting an application, all we can do is to wait. It's your call to either wait with patience or panic.

Feel best about Tuck but Booth went well. Hopefully I can generate a similar performance at Wharton's TBD. Fingers crossed for an admit at any one of them.

Neutral. As you saw, that day was a huge day for number of interviewees on-campus, and I think it was an all hands on deck kind of day in terms of resources.
