Do you mean it was sent out to students admitted in round 1 or round 2 through the consortium, or that it's a sign of what the decision will be on 3/25? It seems odd to me that the newsletter was sent to admitted students when it mentions an online event with adcom where application tips will be provided...

It was just a newsletter addressed to the Class of 2018. They also send a similar newsletter as an admissions newsletter, which I used to receive and I believe is what Dan is providing above. The newsletter I just received does not contain any mention of online events with application tips, it contains links to submit my background check, official transcripts, Join the SOM Class of 2018 Facebook group, etc.

I assume it was sent to everyone who was admitted thus far (i.e., R1 and Consortium) and I don't think that anyone can speculate that it is a "sign" of the decision on 3/25, since those who are expecting to hear back this Friday haven't been admitted yet and probably didn't receive a Class of 2018 newsletter.

I think it's as simple as posted above - those already admitted received the "Class of 2018" newsletter, and ANYONE on the SOM mass mailing list (which you opt into) received the typical "Admissions Newsletter: March 2016" edition about tips, webinars, etc. When I signed up for SOM updates over a year ago, I used my work email - and that's where I received the March newsletter. Still nothing in my personal inbox though - which is the account associated with my application.

Ok good to know. It's just that I used to be signed on for that list, now I'm not on that list. It may be that they made a decision , either way. Hopefully it's for the best.

Hey Everybody,

Two things - Yep, sorry for the trouble about the newsletter - I've let Admissions know - in the interim, please just re-subscribe to the newsletter here: https://app.e2ma.net/app2/audience/signup/1356055/1354890.10802314/ We are not sure why it didn't get delivered to everyone.

Secondly and most importantly, I have heard it from one admissions officer that they may begin calling admits tomorrow, Thursday EDT. Please be aware that this is all the information I have - I know that Friday is a holiday in the United States that the University has off (Good Friday) - so they may begin calling as early as on Thursday or possibly also on Friday. I'm sorry that this is going to extend for two days instead of one. Please be on the lookout and be sure to relax.

If you have any other questions, post them here - I'll do my best to get back to you ASAP. But again, this is what I've heard from one admissions officer and I wanted to let everyone know to prevent any confusion or anybody getting upset.
