I was there last Friday, and although there wasn't a class with actual students, there is a 'faculty presentation' which is kind of a classroom simulation. We had Rodrigo Canales who was extremely impressive and introduced a lot of interesting ideas and concepts related to innovation (and how he hates that word). So I wouldn't worry too much about attending a real class - you'll get a good taste.

SOM closed today. It's snowing sideways here.

SOM closed but not the university?? My friend had to teach this morning LOL.

Also, always listen to Wilch, not me for actual updates haha

Yeah, some professors insisted on having classes - I think some 2nd years still had to attend CompStrat. Employees (core) was cancelled today, but our Operators professor insisted on holding a class today (I went to yesterday's section, luckily).

Sorry - shouldn't have said closed, it's open but it's pretty empty

Love that you still went to Evans in the snow!

Hi everyone :)

Does anyone have any clue as to how many college seniors get invited to the Silver Scholars Admissions Committee Interview Rounds?
And possibly what percentage of those invited actually gets accepted?

Congrats!! That's a huge accomplishment! Silver Scholars is a really competitive program. I want to say at least in 2014-2016ish the admit rate was <6 or 7%, definitely in the single digits. I know since then the program has expanded in size so not sure if that's affected admit rates or if there's simply that many applications.

@8088, do you have more info?

Hey There,

I'm so glad that you're interested in the Silver Scholars program - it was such an incredible experience for me and I definitely miss it and SOM!

It really depends upon the top of the funnel - I can tell you that due to the program's success, it has expanded to approximately 20 students matriculating each year. I would expect that the admit rate hasn't changed too significantly, but I don't have any specific numbers or stats, as they are not reported.

Drop me a PM if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply! :) Yes, I am well aware that the overall acceptance rates do not look overly optimistic - question is: since I got invited to an interview, what odds can I be battling now? ;)

8088 PM dropped. :)

Unfortunately I don't know that since I applied through the regular 2 year MBA program. I'd say be confident in what you've done and passionate about what you can offer. The Silver Scholars are some of the brightest minds on campus; own it and don't let your age (or lack thereof) hold you back.

@8088 can tell you a ton more about the program.

does anyone know when the last invites will be? i know that the website declares a "rolling invite," but i have to be honest with myself and assume that there is some point in the timeline in which we have reached the point of no return/chance. thanks!

They don't seem to be interested in this part of globe anymore... its less than 40 days to decision deadline, yet no invites....

They're all on the decision date. I remember Bruce saying at the closing reception that we had it the hardest (the first group being interviewed) because we had to wait he longest.

Posted from my mobile device

Thank you! I wasn't able to attend the reception unfortunately.

I believe this is applicable to SE Asia. Haven't received any update on my R2 application.
