Hi, first of all congratulations! I see you have changed your status to "Admitted". I thought decisions would be out on the 15th. When did you receive your admit? i'm sorry, but i was a little curious so had to ask.

Not a problem. I was going to post a reply in this section but got sidetracked at work. So the director of admissions called me at about 11:15 this morning and congratulated me on being accepted and also went on to offer me $. I was EXTREMELY surprised and even told her that I wasn't expecting a decision for another two weeks. She said they were trying to roll out decisions as early as possible so I took that to mean that moving forward from here, round 1 applicants should probably expect a decision any time between now and December 15th.

The amount of money offered was generous for my academic profile, but I took the opportunity to ask about retaking the GMAT for consideration for additional aid. Long story short, I'm going to need to score a 700 in two months to be sitting fairly well when they evaluate the round two applicants. But judging from the profiles I see of people posting in here, I wouldn't stress the decision. You all seem way ahead of the general class profile.

Hi,

Is there anyone who got an Interview invite in the last couple of days? I have submitted for round 1 and haven't heard from them since then. Is there any chance of getting interview invite for round 1 applicants the coming week (as that will be the last week for round 1 applicants)?

Hi
I got interviewed by the Admissions Director on 22nd Nov and now have received an email requesting me to appear for another interview with the Director of the Career Services.

Did this happen with anyone else here? What could it possibly mean?
Any other suggestions?

Hey, i believe someone on this forum had a similar situation. I think everyone HAS to be interviewed by a representative from Career Services. In my opinion, maybe due to some circumstances, there was no one to interview you from Career services the first time and thats why the second interview. I wouldn't worry about it. Just prepare for it the same way you did for the first interview. Just make sure that you're aware of the scope of your goals and also narrow down companies that you hope to target. Good Luck!

Yeah if you scroll up a couple posts you'll see where I said that they offered me admission alongside a fellowship. I just received my official fellowship letter today over email.

My job experience is a bit fragmented, many jobs. They did ask me specifically for this and the answer may not been satisfying. Also I spent some periods unemployed due to my country´s crisis

that's awesome -- congrats. Forgive my ignorance, but what's the difference between a fellowship and a graduate assistantship? I know GAs have a work requirement, but is the amount of aid the same?

I'm very surprised that that might be a reason for a ding. That seems like one of the more legitimate reasons for spotty work experience. If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about addressing it in your essays? My academic record is just north of a disaster. Bad grades, irrelevant major and extremely sporadic performance. I used as much of the optional essay to state outright that I had no excuse and expressed that my immaturity was to blame for my grades. I knew beforehand that ADCOMs don't like to see excuses, so maybe if you reapply next year, try to show this was one of the few REAL and legitimate excuses?

Thank you! And I'm still kind of new to this as well, but from my understanding a fellowship has no stipulations other than maintaining a certain GPA while a GA requires employment within the school or university. Not sure the amounts either. I've heard (unofficially) that GA's tend to net more with the combination of stipend for the work and discounted tuition.
