Yes could be true. Simon has given quick decisions in virtual interview cases also for some candidates. But you have valid point as they have only 1 week to decide.

When did you apply? 1st round interview decisions are already out. Simon admission team is coming to India and they will be interviewing students face to face. They are also organizing events in Bangalore, Mumbai for prospective students in which they will discuss about the MBA program. Then there will be a sample class by one of the deans.
These are the information I got from admissions. Hope this helps.
I applied on Oct 15 2019. And till date, the portal shows that APPLICATION SUBMITTED AND UNDER REVIEW BY ADMISSION COMMITEE. So that's why I got wondered about my chances of getting an interview.
