Calling UNC Kenan-Flagler MBA Applicants: 2022 Intake [Class of 2024]

How many letters of recommendation needed? I have submitted only one. Is it fine?

Can anyone confirm. Website says one. I have entered two but only submitted one recommendation. They are asking for the second one. Shall I exclude it as it requires only one? What should I do?

Only one is needed but if you have entered two names already you’ll have to submit two then.



Thanks a lot. However, my query was around the questions asked to the interviewer at the end of the session since they are neither students alums or adcom of the mba program. Any help appreciated

I think there should be an option to withdraw that recommendation. Since only one is required, maybe you can withdraw/delete the other one.

Hey, is UNC still sending invites for R1? I sent them an updated GMAT score on 13th Nov and they replied on 18th asking for a screenshot, which I duly provided. The lady also confirmed that my application has now been updated with my latest score. Further, received another generic mail stating that decisions will be out on 13th Dec.
I'm concerned that there is too little time left for being invited and interviewed. Any word of advice?

Did everyone that applied R1 receive the "When you can expect your Full-Time MBA admission decision" email even if they did not receive an interview invite? I assume this means Kenan-Flagler is done making decisions on R1?

This is a response I received from the Admissions team:

"Interview invitations can go out up until the day of decision release. If you do not receive an invitation to interview prior to the decision release date, it is not indicative of an admission outcome. Applicants who are offered a position on the Waitlist will have the opportunity to interview during the following round. We understand waiting for an invitation can be difficult, but rest assured that your application is under a thorough review by the Admissions Committee."

This seems to be the standard response that all schools are giving.

Hey Guys, Had my interview yesterday with a third party professional interviewer for Kenan Flagler. Questions were exactly in line with all the debriefs from this year and past year as well. Went well I guess and was conversation but there were a lot of technical glitches so its went beyond the usual 30 min mark. My only concern is: It seems this year Why Kenan Flagler is not being asked? None of the debriefs this year seem to have mentioned that question whereas every debrief of 2020 and 2019 has this question listed.

I did try to inculcate a few elements of my research but a lot of my passion and what I could have said for Why KF didn’t get to see the light of the day. Was it the case with others as well here who gave the interviews?

An alum said once you're asked Why MBA, you can squeeze 2 points of "Why that School" in your response. If they ask again, you can repeat yourself then elaborate.

Or you can also find other avenue during Q&A to chip in your points.

But I don't think they'll penalise you for not giving response to what's not asked.

Hi guys, I just got done with my interview. It was with a third party professional interviewer. She was really nice and friendly. Surprisingly, with me she particularly asked my UNC and not other colleges along with more or less similar other questions mentioned in previous briefs. Please be apprise the interview does not happen on zoom call so you won’t be able to set background or blur the background on that call. so careful while selecting the background while giving the interview

Well I was asked “Tell me why are you here” - which meant tell me why UNC and why MBA.
