I know it's going to be a long wait, but hopefully most of us can make it to the admitted bucket ... Good luck everyone

Has anyone sent the acceptance to waitlist e-mail yet?

What percentage of WL applicants do finally make it to the Admitted list?

And how late is it in the cycle that International applicants make it to the admitted list?

I saw somewhere that Johnson had close to 470 people on the wait list last year and offered admission to only around 40... That makes it around 8%.. All in all, not a very good chance of getting in. Also, people only start finding out around April after the third round... they look at all the wait listed candidates together and based on the acceptance rate, start taking people out of it...

Judging by last couple of year's discussion thread, we will have lots of folks in the W/L from the next rounds as well.

Maybe we can manage this better by having a role call.

The details can be:

Profile name/Domestic or Int'l applicant/ WL with or without interview.

Mine is:
neosumit/International (India)/WL w/o interview.

It will be a long wait and no clear sign of how many candidates are W/L this year.
Hope the number is less than last year though.

Keep the hope and may most (if not all) come out of the list onto the Admitted list.

I also got waitlisted for Johnson (without interview).
I am a re-applicant from India.

Any suggestions on whether an additional recommendation would be useful or not.
I am planning to submit one.

The letter from Cornell states that you are allowed to send in one more recommendation.
I think it is very useful and will send a strong message about your continued interest in the program.
Also you may try to send a recommendation which may inform adcom about something which the first 2 recommenders didn't.

Were you WLed last year as well?
Did you ask Nichole on how can one send the additional recommendation?

The fate of WL candidates now depends more on the quality of R2 and R3 applicants.
Let's hope there is less competition.

I was waitlisted without interview last year; however, I was later contacted around May and given an opportunity to interview. I eventually didn't get in, but I don't think you should lose hope!

All the best to everyone on the waitlist. Has anyone figured out the procedure for sending in the extra letter of recommendation?

Whoever is providing your recommendation should probably send it to the Admissions Specialist you were assigned in your 'Johnson Wait List Information' email. You might also consider asking them to do this in business letter format (and as a .docx or .pdf).

I haven't provided an additional recommendation; however, I just submitted an update last week. Johnson seems to encourage these, "We appreciate your commitment to Johnson and we look forward to receiving updates from you."

Just use your best judgment in determining whether you have substantial news to share.

There have been many offers given in R2. So I expect any movement should happen in recent days.

You mean there haven't been many offers in R2? Or there have been?

I think there will be some movement for R1 WLs because adcoms have finished R2 reviews and given out new round of offers. Does anyone decide to attend webinar discussion hosted by Nicole specially for WLs?
