Cars A and B travel the same 140-mile route. If car A takes 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete the drive, and if car B travels 30 miles per hour faster than car A, how long did it take car B to travel the route?

A. 1 hour and 30 minutes

B. 2 hours

C. 2 hours and 30 minutes

D. 3 hours

E. 3 hours and 30 minutes

The rate of Car A is 140/3.5 = 40 mph, so the rate of car B is 70 mph. Thus, it took car B, 140/70 = 2 hours to travel the route.
