I'm glad that you found the EMPOWERgmat Course to be so helpful. I'd be interested in hearing your entire story, if you'd be comfortable posting about it in the Shared Experience forum:
share-gmat-experience-8/Schools such as Harvard and Stanford receive so many applications that the Admissions Committees at each School end up rejecting about 90% (or more) of the applicants. As such, the little details CAN make a big difference. Since GMAC has publicly stated that your score on the Official GMAT is within +/- 30 points of actual ability, Business Schools know that there's essentially no difference between a 710 and a 720. However, if the School (or a specific Program within the School) values high Quant Scaled Scores, then THAT detail can be quite important in deciding whether to accept or reject a particular applicant.
