How do you know when the interviewer submitted the feedback form?
Pls let me know..
In my application page, no change for the past two days after my interview..

You will get a "Status update" email from Columbia and a new Status Update on the application webpage.

Is the status update email sent out automatically?
Or the adcom check and send emails one by one?

I am getting nervous..

It has been 2 weeks for me and I still haven't gotten my interview feedback submitted. I sent the person an email and I called the admissions office yesterday to see what the hold up is. They said they would reach out to the person.

If I was you I'd wait a full week, then email the interviewer a reminder, then follow up with the admissions office if you don't get a reply.

Has anyone been dinged yet without an interview? Is there a date when they will just release those that haven't been offered an interview?

Re: Columbia 2013 (CBS) - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
Just had my interview today. Interviewer was very nice and made it a comfortable conversational atmosphere right off the bat. She didn't take any notes or have anything other than my resume in front of her. I could tell she's done this a fair amount and is good at getting good answers out of you.

The normal - walk me through your resume (though she didn't explicitly ask me, I kind of got the cue during conversation that she wanted me to go into it), why MBA, why Columbia. What do I do in my job now, how did I get there. Proudset moment on the job. Biggest weakness in the office or failure at work.

One question I was caught off guard for was "What is your networking style", but it was easy to wing that.

What, other than the finance classes I had mentioned, do I want to get out of COlumbia? That drew me into speaking about social intelligence, "softer" classes, clubs, etc. I'm probably forgetting a few other questions. We had planned 45 minutes and ended up chatting for 50-55 with a few questions from me at the end. We then spoke about what I do outside of work. She was very interested in this and we ended up speaking about my experience at a charity I've worked with for a few years for quite a bit. She drew out related questions - how does that experience affect you in the workplace, as a leader, etc.

It was conducted in her office but was a comfortable atmosphere - not a large conference table or anything like that. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

quick debrief of my interview for those that are interested...

app submitted - 9/29 (ED)
invited to interview - 10/16
interviewed - 10/23

male
gmat: 720 (50/37)
gpa: 3.6 from top public us

we: consulting/entrepreneurship/corp strat (6 yrs total)

interview was shorter than what i had expected. it lasted about 45 minutes.

first 15-20 mins were the typical interview questions:
resume rundown
goals
why cbs
other schools
why new york (west coast school, west coast WE)
how i would contribute in the classroom (variation on the typical teamwork-question)

the next 30 mins were just general school questions back/forth. we talked about the value investing program, different clubs, where he lived in new york, how to deal with first year recruiting. though these may sound like interview questions, it was very casual, conversational and very much the interviewer giving ME advice. he was very interested and invested in giving me all the info i needed and really felt like he was passing down his wisdom. i was hoping we would start talking about non-school things and shoot the breeze a little more but he ended the interview (naturally) when i ran out of questions. can't complain - had a pretty great experience.

my tips would be - RELAX! these people don't get paid for doing this and their lives won't be altered whether you get in or not. remember these people (vast majority of them) don't want you to suck and would much rather have a great conversation than a stuffy interview where the interviewee seems like a nervous wreck. have confidence and faith in yourself that the application you put together is your best foot forward. REALLY know your story/background and make sure it's aligned with CBS and its qualities.

oh, and i got really lucky. the interviewer submitted the feedback the same day we interviewed. big kudos to him.

now, i just wait.

good luck to everyone!

Anyone else get dinged today? I did.

Submitted ED: 10/2
Dinged (no interview): 10/25

I'm sad to see the class of CBS '15 put together and not be a part of it. Best wishes to all of you.

Was dinged as well today. Very disheartening...

Was so excited about it after visiting there and getting so excited about everything I saw. Got dinged by HBS on Wed (although I expected it) so back to back days was rough. Feeling like that's how its going to go for all of them now...

You didn't get your GMAT up to 710 from 620 with that attitude, right?? You'll do just fine!! :)

My application status still is "Submitted", and not even "Application Received". Does it mean that my review hasn't even started!! I applied on 3rd Oct. for J-term..

I know the feeling, try to stay positive. Last year I was dinged without interview at HBS, Wharton and CBS. Waitlisted at Kellogg Rd 1 and eventually withdrew my application in June. I re-took the GMAT, really buckled down and brushed up my story and this year I was admitted to Columbia! You still have a number of schools left on your list and even if you don't get in this time it's not the end of the world.
