IMO, Answer is (E)- $0.05.

Cost of 72 CDs = $9.40
Cost of 1 box of 24 CD's = $4.40
So, cost of 3 boxes of 24 CD's = $4.40 * 3 = $13.20

Customer paid $13.20 - $9.40 = $3.80 more for 72 CD's.
Therefore, for each CD the customer paid $3.80/72= $0.05 extra.

want to buy 72 pack cd, costs=9.4
due to unavailability, actually buys, 24 pack, 3 b0xes, costs=3*4.4=13.2
paid extra=13.2-9.4=0.05

My Ans:
Price of each CD in pack of 72 boxes is 9.4/72 = $0.13
Price of each CD in pack of 24 boxes is 24/4.4 = $0.18
Hence, customer paid $0.18 - $0.13 = $0.05 extra for each CD.

72 pack of CD costs=9.4
pack of 24,, 3 boxes, costs=3*4.4=13.2
paid extra =13.2-9.4=3.8

paid extra per cd = 3.8/72 = 0.05
