I visited a testing center a week or so ago and the receptionist at the test center told me that every test taker must come 30 minutes early to the test center; over there we are given a booklet which contains information regarding our conduct at the test center, etc--many other things related to the test center--she told me that we have 30 minutes to read that booklet.
She told me that that booklet is test center specific so every test center has their own custom booklet.
I asked her what is written inside that booklet, how big is it, etc but she wouldn't say; she said that she is not at liberty to disclose and that I can only find out what is inside it when I give the exam.
Hi iLucKy,

You should take a look at this page. It has everything you need, including a copy of the GMAT Test Taker Rules & Agreement, which is what you were discussing with the receptionist.

1. I don't think anyone would want to read that booklet on the day of the exam.
2. I don't think that every test center has its own custom booklet. Maybe region-specific, but test center-specific is not really likely.

3. "Not at liberty to disclose" :-D

Hi iLucKy,

As part of the 'sign-in' process, you will go through a variety of steps, including verifying your identity (with ID or passport), having your fingers/palm scanned, receiving a locker for your possessions (since you cannot take anything into the Computer Lab with you) and reading through a list of the Center's "rules." That list could come in different formats, but I've always seen it as a laminated sheet of paper with the policies/rules of the testing facility on it. Most of what's on that list is common-sense items about how you should behave in the facility - and you should give it a cursory read-through (although you don't technically have to read it if you don't want to).

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Hi iLucky,

Can you provide some more information on which booklet you are referring to?

Gotcha. Well as has been said, I don't think the booklet is all that important, and you likely just need to glance at it. So, I really would not worry too much about that part of the check-in process.
