Given that most of the schools are extending their Round 3/4 deadlines and some also waiving GMAT/GRE. Do we think they will drop their standards for the admissions?

Schools have stated that their academic standards for admissions will not drop and they will view the applicant holistically.

Do we think this will hold true and that a candidate will merely be evaluated on high undergraduate performance and work experience? Will be they more strict or lenient?

Looking at how Kellogg has reached out to the WL and Ding candidates from R1 and R2, it makes me believe they will be evaluating high performing candidates who either had a low GMAT score OR were considered not competitive within their pool. My understanding is that these changes are driven by the lack of Visas for the international students and withdrawals and deferrals people may have to deal with and thus schools are looking to manage their class size. My guess is that they have a drop dead date when they know all international students are out due to Visas and they won't make their decisions until that date (just a guess here - I could be completely off as my head is spinning with this new GMAT online sucker)

Update from NUS Singapore.

Postponement of The NUS MBA commencement to January 2021

In order to allow you sufficient time to make your arrangements with more certainty, and adjust your plans in the coming months, we have decided to move the start date of The NUS MBA to January 2021 for both full-time and part-time formats.

Extension of full-time and part-time application deadlines to 15 July 2020

In view of the challenges faced by many applicants during this time, we will continue to accept applications for both the full-time and part-time programmes until 15 July 2020. Your completed application and test scores will have to be submitted by then. Applications will continue to be reviewed on a rolling basis.

The desperation from business schools is almost getting embarrassing. Most serious applicants apply R1 and R2, so why all the drama?

Update from INSEAD.

INSEAD has extended the application deadlines for the January 2021 intake.

Round 2: 06 May 2020 May 20th, 2020

Round 3: 24 June 2020 July 1st, 2020

Round 4: 28 July 2020 August 5th, 2020

Additionally, INSEAD is allowing at the moment to submit applications without a GMAT/GRE score until test centers reopen.

Warm regards
Alex

Now that the GMAT is available to take online, do you think INSEAD applicants will have to take the online GMAT before 20th may?

UPDATE:
Emory plans to start as per schedule. It sees no reason to delay the course as of now.

This is the latest update from them.

RicAssassin
Emory (Goizueta Business School):

- Final round deadline has been extended to July 1 keeping in mind COVID-19 exigencies.

- International Students: There has been no delay as of now in the start time of the program. For students who are stuck for sometime either due to visa issues or travel bans, the remote learning option is given until they land in the US. However, probability is also there that even if you do come, the classes will be virtual and may be made physical ‘as soon as practical’.

- 1 Year MBA classes start dates might be pushed (as it is in May).

Stay Safe guys!
