Hi All,
I have my GMAT on 12th August.
I took the 1st test from the GMAT Exam Pack 1 today and scored 680(V-32/Q-50).
I am highly disappointed with the Verbal score specially since in the last free GMAT Prep which I took 3 weeks back I had scored V40. I totally mismanaged the timings today and to top it got two large RCs for the last 8 questions and I had to guess almost all of them since I had just around 5 minutes left. In Verbal there were 13 mistakes today vs 11 mistakes in the previous GMAT prep free test.
The analysis of the Verbal section reveals that I did fairly well in SC and CR with 97th percentile and 84th percentile respectively while in RC it's a dismal 21 percentile. These percentiles were much more balanced in the previous mock I took(SC-87th percentile, CR-82 percentile and RC-85 percentile). I took more or less similar time for SCs in both(1 minute 38 secs) but in today's test the CR questions seemed to be way harder and I ended up spending 2 minute 30 secs per CR question on average vs 2 minutes in the previous mock. This messed up my timings for sure, in retrospect probably I should have guessed and moved on in a few questions but it seems to be a bit of a mindset issue too and I somehow find it incredibly hard to guess and move on.
Any advice on how to utilize the next 2 weeks to address this? How and to what degree should I practice CRs and RCs? Should I take 4-5 mocks in verbal only to sort out the timing issue? My target score is 730.
Best regards,
Arnabsuave
