I) The diameter of C equals side of S.

II) Ratio of 2/4 of area of circle C to 5/8 of the area of square S is less than 1:1

D it is...

1) we know Diameter is X....lets say side of square S is equal to X

area of circle= pi(x/2)^2

area of square S=x^2, we can easily tell that area of circle in not equal to area of square.

1 is sufficient

2) we have the area of 1/2circle over 5/8 area of Square S is <1

12/5 (area of circle)/(area of square) <1, we can see that the area of square S has to be bigger than 12/5*area of circle...sufficient

state 1.....we know dia and side....suff

state 2.....(1/2C) / (5/8 S) < 1..........4C < 5S....for S = C = 1.....YES....S = 2 C = 1.....NO...insuff

from i.
C=pi(d/2)^2=(3.14d^2)/4
S=d^2
from above; S>C .............suff

from ii,
0.5C/ 0.625S<1
4C<5S......... insuff.

Ma bad...I got the fraction wrong. its 4/5 and yes A it is...

ahhh...if I can only keep my focus....during the actual test!
