I previously used EmpowerGMAT for one month to study for the GMAT.

EmpowerGMAT had great video explanations for practice questions and presented some unconventional ways of solving problems. There were different study guides (1-month, 2-month, etc.) depending on the pace you wanted to go every day. What I found particularly helpful were nailing down some common difficult math questions. If you are debating whether or not to use EmpowerGMAT, I would say go for it! You can always start off with one month and purchase more months as needed.

It'd be helpful to know the not-so-good parts of the course structure too.
Also, what kind of questions do they use for practice questions?

I'd say that the course structure was solid throughout. The lessons were very useful in terms of tactics for solving different types of questions.

The only con would be having to purchase access each month (pay as you go).

bluemba,

Had you purchased both Verbal and Quant part? Did you benefit in Verbal as well?

Yes - access comes with both Verbal and Quant. I also found the Verbal lessons to be very helpful, as their tips and tricks differ from some of the more well-known/larger GMAT prep companies out there.
