Hi everyone,

I would like to get your opinion about whether I should apply to the ESCP MiM considering my profile and the 180e application fees.

My profile is the following:

- GMAT 600 (Q39 - V40)
- graduated from French business school (bachelor) with a GPA of 14.3/20 (which is respectable)
- exchange student for 1 year in Germany
- 3 internships (2x in Switzerland as sales officer in a small company and 1x in Luxembourg for Credit Suisse)
- additionally~1 year of work experience (Fixed term contract - Credit Suisse), I was offered the position at the end of my internship
- Appointed as Treasurer of the school's club (1 year mandate)
- Speak fluently French & English and have a high level of German

I still have plenty of time to retake the GMAT, improve my score and apply to most of the other business schools but the deadline for French students at ESCP is March 5th. Considering my profile, would it make sense to apply even though my GMAT is quite far from the average for this program (690) or I should rather save my 180e and focus on improving my GMAT and on applying to other unis?

Hi ernestms

With a strong application, you would have a shot at ESCP given the other profile parameters. In the past, we've seen people with GMAT scores around 600 make it to the program. While that is not the norm, it does prove that there is room for good profiles with strong applications.

Post that, if you can, do retake the GMAT. It might help you at a later point with ESCP scholarships (if you take it soon enough) and of course with other schools.

Hey ernestms,
I will second your decision about retaking the GMAT and improve your score in order to increase your chances at the top business schools,
Coming to whether you should apply to ESCP Europe before the deadlines,
I personally believe as you have a good amount of experience and extracurricular activities along with a decent GPA, that in the case you have already crafted a stellar/strong application essays for ESCP Europe, I would advise you to go for it,
However, in the case you have to start your application essays, I would suggest you to save the application fee, as crafting a strong application takes at least 10 days as per my experience and you won’t be able to do justice to the same by running to meet the deadlines.
