Hello everyone,
I would appreciate any recommendations to improve my score/suggestions for focus areas.
My GMAT experience was fairly unique (and frustrating), the questions seemed a little bit more challenging, at least compared to the ones that I encountered during my prep. As a result, my timing was off on both sections. Just a few additional notes:
- PS has always been a weak point and I wasn't surprised to see such poor performance in this section
- CR questions were extremely challenging, during my prep this was probably my strongest Verbal section
Below is some additional information about my studies leading up to the exam:
- study materials: Magoosh (30-day program), Official Guide, Manhattan Strategy Guides
- length of the prep: ~3 months (15 hours per week)
- target score: 650
- next GMAT: mid-February
- previous GMATPrep scores:
1. Total 640, 42Q, 35V
2. Total 550, 37Q 28V
3. Total 590, 39Q 33V
4. Total 560, 41Q, 27V

GMAC has publicly stated that the Official Score that you earn on Test Day is within +/- 30 points of actual ability. Assuming a similar 'swing' in how your CATs function, your 3 most recent CAT score results - along with your Official Score - show that you essentially performed the same each time (about 570 +/- a few points). You handle certain aspects of the GMAT consistently well, but you also make certain consistent mistakes.
Before we discuss the data in your ESR, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
1) On what dates did you take your Official GMAT and EACH of your CATs/mocks?
2) What Schools are you planning to apply to and what application deadlines are you currently facing?
3) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?

Hello Rich,
Agreed, I received the score that I was expecting, however my exam experience was substantially different. Below are the responses to your questions:
1) I took one GMATPrep exam per week, every weekend leading up to the exam
2) I'm not aiming for top business schools, however I need to submit my application by the end of February (that's why I need to take the exam mid-February)
3) I should be able to dedicate ~15 hours to the GMAT per week again
