Final Two Day Strategy [#permalink]

Hi Folks!

I am hoping to get some advice regarding the last two days of practice for my first real attempt on Thursday. I have taken all Veritas GMAT Prep Exams and 1 Official GMAT Exam. I am scoring Q45+ very consistently but what is holding me back is verbal... Mainly, I am getting destroyed by sentence correction. I have improved over the last 3 days(about 30 hours of studying) and am wondering how to tackle the last few days. Would it be best to focus on taking OG Sentence Correction questions while maintaining some of my other skills? Or would it be best to gauge where I am at after extensive sentence correction studying? My current strategy for at least tomorrow is as follows

STUDY PLAN(September 12th)

-Complete 10 Problem Solving Questions (Hard)— 30 Minutes
-Complete 10 Data Sufficiency Questions(Hard) — 30 Minutes
-Complete 10 Sentence Correction Questions(Easy) — 30 Minutes
-Complete 10 Critical Reasoning Questions(Easy) — 30 Minutes
-Complete 3 sets of Reading Comprehension(Easy) — 30 Minutes
-Complete 10 Sentence Correction Questions(Medium) — 30 Minutes
-Complete 10 Critical Reasoning Questions(Medium) — 30 Minutes
-Complete 3 sets of Reading Comprehension(Medium) — 30 Minutes
-Review all answers and target areas as needed — 2 Hours
-Take Manhattan GMAT CAT Exam(Verbal/Quant) — 3 Hours
-Review all answers and target areas as needed — 2 Hours
-Close out day with mixed difficulty sentence correction questions

Seriously, any advice would be appreciated! Tell me how you improved your verbal score!

Hi togepy123,

As a general rule, 'cramming' doesn't typically lead to great results on the GMAT. Studying for 30 hours over the last 3 days was a LOT of studying - and it looks like you're planning to study for another 11 hours or so tomorrow (the day before your Exam). That volume of studying increases your chances of 'burnout' (which is something that you want to avoid). At this point, since you're so close to Test Day, you're not likely to learn anything 'new' so I suggest that you pare down your plans a bit - a little light review and general practice is okay, but you'd be better served by getting some extra rest so that you can go into Test Day calm and ready to work.

What are you getting in verbal? A 29 on verbal is roughly the same as a 45 in quant.
