Hi,
For the below sentence, please clarify what is the subject/noun of the sentence?
"To get to his house, Jim biked along an old dirt road, which cut through the woods."
If "Jim biked along an old dirt road" is the independent clause, what is the subject/noun of the clause?. If I go by concept (of finding the subject) by asking "what/who" to the working verb "biked" in the independent clause, the answer for "who" is "Jim" and for "what" is old dirt road". Pls clarify/correct my understanding re this.
The reason of doubt being... "which cut through the woods" is modifying "old dirt road", which makes "old dirt road" the subject/noun.
Request your inputs.
Thanks
