Hey guys,
I just wanted to say thank you for keeping me motivated!
I started preparing in oktober with literally no knowledge of mathematic at all. The last time I calculated an equation myself was nearly 10 Years ago in school and I was always really bad at math.
At first I purchased all the
Manhattan Prep Books and took a mock exam first to see where I stand.
I got 470 (Q30 V26) and was a little bit frustrated. I started with Foundations of Math and solved every practice question in the book. Then I started to work on the standard books and took the next mock exams after a few weeks.
540 (Q32 V33)
580 (Q38 V32)
590 (Q39 V32)
620 (Q42 V33)
In the mid of december I took the real exam and got a 550. I was nearly crying. Actually my girlfriend broke up with me the same day and moved out of our flat and I really cried.
After a few days of procrastination and playing Gothic 2 (I still love this game) I got back to the GMAT.
The results of self studying with the books were not to my satisfaction, therefore I buyed the
Magoosh course after Christmas. This was by far the best decision I have made.
In just a few weeks I watched all of the Quant lessons and did 500 practice Questions. For verbal I only watched a few videos and did around 100 questions.
The Quant questions got really familiar and I enjoyed doing them.
Then I took my next
manhattan prep mock on the 22.01. I had not much time only did Quant and got Q 41. F#ck! I got worse. On the 24.01 I got 620 (Q41 V34). Still bad but enough I just needed 600 for Mannheim. In February I will go to france for a semester abroad so I scheduled a test date for the 27.01.
I had taken only
Manhattan Prep Mocks at this time. At saturday I did the first GMATPrep mock and i was astonished 660 (Q47 V35). How the f#ck this happened.
This really gave me hope that I can reach 600 this time. Today I had the real exam and I was really late and had to run for 15 minutes to be there on time. I only fully understood very few questions on the test. It was more like I could rule out 3 answers but had to guess between the last two. During IR and AWA I was really demotivated because I had a very bad feeling about this.
When I finished my essay I was totally astonished when I saw a 710 (Q49 V37).
I still can not believe it. Originally I planed to go to Mannheim but now I have much more opportunities.
I read lots of postings in this forum in the time I studied for the Test and knowing that there are other people studying hard gave me the motivation to go on.
I just want to say thanks for that!
