I had been a passive reader of this forum for past 3 months. But this is my first contribution.
Regarding my scores in prep matrials:
PR - 690 to 740
Kaplan - 640, 640, 640, decided not to take 4th test.
PP - 750 (Q - 49, V-42) and 770 (Q - 51, V-42)
You can see, only realiable indicator of final score is PP. Nothing else come close to it.
So I will suggest all of you not to worry too much about the scores on PR and Kaplan. Also, best source of practise will be Vstudy, GMAT + and
OG.
On my test day, I found that the pattern of questions was similar to Vstudy and
OG.
Quant:
No the quant was not harder than the
OG. Just be attentive and try to make sure that you donot fall to ETS trap. For me, no probability in exam. Only one combnation (simple though) and was Q#3 or 4. No SD and only one Range question, which I could not comprehend and quessed - lucky for me
that either I guessed it correctly or it was an experimental question. I finished it 5 mins early - compared with 20-30 mins in practise test. As you can see, GMAT is not mutating as such and it is just how you handle the pressure.
Verbal:
Q# 1 & 2 were SC.
Then Q# 3 to 6 were RC.
Q# 7 CR (BF)
Q# 8 to 11 RC.
So it was more of RC than anything else in first 10 Q.
CR questions were long and sometimes I felt short of time and had to rush. In total there were 2 BF CR and I am not good at them and I found that I had to spend 4 + 4 = 8 mins on them.
There were 4 RC -
Business Related. - 40 lines
Women role in ancient society - 80 lines
ecologist study. - 60 lines
I cannot remeber the 4th one. - 60 lines
But nothing incomprehensible. Kaplan's RC are a waste of time and resources.
Anyway, I will repeat again - focus on
OG and Vstudy.
Thanks.
