gmatpreparation.com is giving away one or two sets of gmat guides (depends on the number of applicants), each valued at \$79, for more information see their website, http://www.pathcom.com/~mapleaf/gmatstudyguides.html

On Sunday, Dec 22, we will have a random drawing to determine who will get the set of guides. However, there is a condition: whoever gets them, will have to supply a review of these guides in our book's section, here is the link to this section:

You will need to supply an average size describing pros/cons and making suggestions within 30 days.

- I hope you win,
- bb

Hello BB,
I am preparing for my first attempt at GMAT and plan to take the exam end of January. I would like to win this book as much as any one else. However, I don't think I am qualified to fill out that form you have on the site. I really can't recommend any book or strategy since I have no first hand experience or results to prove it. Is there any other way to do this?
Also, how do I get the Official Guide?
Keep up the good work. I think this is a great website.

Dear Murtaza,

The primary reason behind this giveaway is that I want to check the quality of these guides and I really would prefer a person who has already used at least several major study guides, such as Kaplan or PR in order to produce a qualified review. I am afraid you will not be very qualified as a reviewer (i am sorry) but I am planning to start distributing different kinds of GMAT books a few weeks from now and anybody will be able to participate... they will be awarded to the most active participants of the website. but i am still working on this.

A question to you, you are planning to take GMAT end of January and you have not used any study materials? You must be a genious...

You can get official guide from ETS, from thier website or from this place: http://www.mbaapplicant.com/official_guide_sales.htm Amazon is not a good place to shop for the OG.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for replying...but calling me a Genius?!! You really shouldn't make such allegations.

Actually I have studied from 2 books quite extensively. The 'ARCO GRE GMAT Math review' which I think is great for the Math section, and the Princeton Review. Secondly, thanks for the link for the Official Guide. I don't mind saving a few bucks if I can get a used copy from someone living in the Los Angeles area. So if anybody else reads this message, please let me know if i can get a used copy from you for less than \$30 bucks. Otherwise, i'll order the books in a couple of days.

Good luck to all of us.

Murtaza

Hi BB,

I am attempting Gmat for the 3rd time, and I have scored abysmally low in the verbal section on 2 ocassions. I have prepared from a variety of materials including taking the PR course, which did not help me much.
I am especially concentrating on critical reasoning and reading comprehension which are my weak areas. I was finding it particularly difficult to read and comprehend from the computer screen. I did not face this problem in Quantitative section.

So any material that can strengthen my areas of improvement is welcome.

thanks
jabs

Yeah... .Sorry guys; it was a while ago

We surely have more power together can use collective bargaining, but I have not had time to explore this opportunity. E.g. We could ask for discountes for club members, etc, etc. If anybody has ideas, I will appreciate; initiative will be appreciated even more :D

Bogdan.
