I will add that it is pretty certain that you Cannot use the mgmat booklet. It has grid lines inside and that’s not allowed.

Just look at the guidelines at mba.com or in the first post in this topic  https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-online- ... 26678.html

You are being lazy... not a good sign for gmat prep

Magdalena1609
Hi all, sorry if this has already been discussed but how strict are the proctors on the whiteboard point? I have ordered laminated booklets on amazon - the ones that look just like the ones you would have in an exam - but now worried this won't do? it's the manhattan simulation booklet.
My gmat is in 2 weeks so have a bit of time still if I have to purchase something else...

Thank you!

Here is what it looks like

Any idea about retaking the GMAT online? Now that its allowed till December?

Posted from my mobile device

Hey Vansh..
There hasn’t been any update regarding the retakes. But almost everybody is hopeful and certain that there will be a decision in the test takers’ favour regarding retakes. We just have to sit tight and keep emailing GMAC, requesting it to allow for the retakes.

yess... Someone else asked GMAC via twitter and GMAC answered that they are analysing the situation. That's why we should all send emails to bother them and push them to allow retakes.

That's all we know so far

Hey...
To address your question, it cannot be stated with certainty that the proctor will allow the laminated booklets, for obvious security concerns. And as you said that you have 2 more weeks for your test, I suggest that you purchase a Whiteboard bearing the dimensions, as mentioned on the mba.com website. If you were to go ahead with the laminated booklets, there is a possibility that the proctor might just not be comfortable with the same and that he/she might want you to switch to a whiteboard. It will probably give you a hard time, right before the exam.

Regards

Great thanks :) thought as much though wanted to check as GRE was very relaxed - about my laminated booklet and the room in general.

Hi, everyone.
I wonder if there is someone who is having same issue as I have.

I took the GMAT online test on 15th, July. I did great on the Quant section(scored 49) but the screen just stopped during the verbal section. Although the screen did not proceed for more than 10 minutes the time was still running out. And the Verbal section ended, so I did not even had a chance to see the last 10~12 questions. During the exam I tried to get some help from the proctor but the chat box was also not working. Thus my Verbal scored turned out 18, which is the score I cannot accept because there was clearly a malfunction of the test. HOWEVER the GMAC customer service said they could not cancel my Online exam since they found no technical issue. How is this possible? I even wrote down [HELP ME] for more than 10mins on the physical white board during the exam. I wonder if there is someone having the same unfair treatment from GMAC as I am having.

Very sorry to hear that..
I’ve heard of issues of such kind.. It’s better that you write to GMAC regarding the same...
GMAC will surely provide you with an attempt, if they find any technical glitch..

I don't think I lost the internet connection because I hardly experienced a internet connection problem while I used the computer at home. Actually, I never had a internet connection problem at home so it must not be the connection problem.
The thing is that my proctor also had a same technical issue - I got to know this while I was live chatting with the assistant on official GMAC website right after the exam- while he tried to chat with me. Thus, I really don't understand why GMAC is saying that there was no such technical issue, which the assistant already admitted at the first place.

That’s quite understandable... Please write to the email addresses I provided and I’m fairly sure that there will a call from GMAC’s end in your favour.. Also include every other issue and concern you have... Bring it to GMAC’s notice..

Hello !
I reported immediately after the exam, and the assistant said they had a same problem with the proctor. So, they immediately reported the case to the related department and said I should wait for 5 working days to have the feedback. However, there was no answer within 5 days, so I keep claimed my issue through live chat and official e-mail accounts. Nevertheless, they replied me yesterday (the exam was on 15th, July) that they could not find any technical error. I wonder how they could not find any technical error that they already admitted on the day that I first reported.

That’s good! Sorry to hear about your issue. I hope you can get them to review the footage and the issue. I don’t know what capabilities their system has but I hope it recorded the communications/etc...

As sad as it is, my guess in situations like these, one should just get up or turn off the system. That way it is a hard failure and they cancel the test and do a retake. It is silly one has to resort to that but ....

Hello folks!
Is there any update or any discussion on any forum regarding retakes? I’m very curious and am waiting for that decision from GMAC... I’m hopeful that there will be a decision this week, as the previous deadline, i.e., 14th of August is just 12 days away, and GMAC has always given out updates just before the deadlines...

There appears to be a pattern emerging with GMAC and the GMAT Online, where GMAC first removes a question from the official FAQ page (regarding the online vs. physical whiteboard, test deadlines, touchscreens, etc.) shortly before changes are made to that policy.

Likewise, there used to be an anchored question on the official FAQ page explaining that ESRs (Enhanced Score Reports) are not available.

That link is no longer there:

https://www.mba.com/frequently-asked-qu ... question27

Yet the language about no retakes remains, at least for now: https://www.mba.com/frequently-asked-qu ... #question3

Hence, if I were a gambling man, then I would surmise that the ESR option will become available before the announcement that retakes are allowed, even though allowing GMAT Online retakes seems obvious and inevitable.

That’s an amazing pattern you’ve observed, and I genuinely feel that it’s gonna hold true for the days to come, regarding the retakes. Fingers crossed...
