I apologize in advance if this question was already answered...this thread is so long. Are we allowed to leave the room during the 5-minute break to, say, use the bathroom and get a drink of water?

You can drink water in the same room. You can keep the bottle in the same room and you can drink it during the break. But going to bathroom should be allowed but though not advisable. Unless you really want to go. I guess you can leave a message in the chat window.

During my exam I had kept water and snack at a 3-4 feet distance from me. During the break I took water bottle and drank it infront of the camera, i even ate snack in front of camera. again put the bottle and snack back in its place. I could not finish snack anyway because of exam stress.

I am still waiting for my results. Hope everything is alright and I get it soon!

Thank you. And all the best.

As the other post said, during official break no need to inform the Procter if you need to take break. That might un-necessarily lead to wastage of time if they ask you to take pictures again.

Login early just before 30 minutes. I think I logged in at 7.20am and my exam was at 7.30am, but after all taking photos uploading etc it was 8am. My exam ended at 10.30am.

I never interacted with procter. just followed all instructions on screen.

1. First you will login and do same system test steps.
2.then they will send you a text message to your cell phone, this option is easier. then click on that link take photos of ID proof and submit. then follow the instruction on phone, you will take four pictures of room then upload.
3.if there is any error it will ask you to take pictures again, and you have to enter your code by looking at the computer screen.
4. after uploading everything you get a message you can proceed to exam.
4a. then keep the phone to silent mode and put in a corner away from you. make sure no alarms no wifi is on. because sometimes even if phone is silent if wifi is on I get internet calls.
4.c. I disconnected wifi from all other devices like phones, alexa, google, tv etc so that data is used only by my laptop.
5. show the board when ever you are asked to show.
6.make sure your face is visible in the webcam through out exam, if we move laptop after starting exam and if procter does not observe that we might not get score later. They might watch our video later to see if there was any discrepancies.
7. eat something before exam, keep water and some little snack.
8. i had locked my room from inside as i have kids and I didnt want them to enter.

Good luck.

It has its advantages and disadvantages.

Are you reading exam is easier or exam experience is easier? :)

Hi
There is a pdf document on the website called Gmat or gmat online. It states there is no cancellation and rescheduling fees even for the offline exam.
Is that correct?

Given the current situation worldwide because of the COVID-19 pandemic, yes. Though you have to reschedule more than 24 hours before your examination appointment.

Hit Kudos, if that helped

Given the current situation do you guys think that GMAC will allow us to take the gmat online more than once?
The round 1 deadlines are approaching and everyone wants to submit a strong application

Gmat retesting will start end of September, you can take the exam twice. Just received an email from GMAC

Posted from my mobile device

From GMAC

“ As you begin to plan your GMAT™ exam strategy, you might be wondering how to juggle retesting between the GMAT™ Online exam and the test center GMAT™ exam—especially if your test center may close due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Problem solved: Starting the end of September, you'll have the option to take the GMAT Online exam two times.

You can register for the GMAT™ Online exam with confidence knowing that having the option to retest will provide you with:

Opportunity to improve your score;
Peace of mind and the flexibility of having an online retesting option given the uncertainty of test center availability; and
More time to plan your prep strategy and application submissions.”

For those who have already given the online exam once, will the previous attempt be counted in the updated policy?

Yes, I believe it should be counted unless your previous attempt was without the whiteboard(prior to 10th June). However, GMAC did not mention any information about what will be counted as an attempt
