If I do decide to give the online exam with physical whiteboard one more try (I suppose I will have no choice if GMAC announces that retakes do not count toward the lifetime limit), then on my 2nd attempt, instead of taking it in our bedroom at 10 pm with 2 dogs and 3 kids on quarantine and a sketchy Wifi connection, I will book a nice, nearby hotel room weeks in advance, ask my wife very nicely to watch the kids and the dogs for a few hours, and take it at 10 am with blazing-fast Wifi, and no distractions.
Somewhat ironically, I do in fact already work out of a nice, comfortable home office, with relatively good sound isolation and reliable Wifi, where I tutor my private students and my internet router is located, but of course that particular room does not meet the requirements for the GMAT Online, because I have 20 years of GMAT books, information and materials everywhere--on all 4 walls, and on all the bookshelves as well. If for some reason I were crazy enough to try to take the online exam in here, then my test would be cancelled by Pearson Vue test security before it even began, to which I can attest from personal experience ("looking off screen").
In other words, I now see why GMAC is calling it the "GMAT Online" instead of the "At-Home GMAT."
