Has anyone else also felt that the scores in the Official GMAT Prep are a bit inflated? I noticed that the final score displayed post the GMAT Prep exam is a bit inflated, by 20-30 points, with respect to the score mentioned in the scoring grid for the same distribution of points.
Scoring grid referred: https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-scoring-grid-288156.html?fl=menu

I am not sure of the accuracy being referred to here but in my last GMAT center based appointment I had a split of Q50 V36 and a score of 710. But according to the link I am supposed to get a 700. In my opinion there is always a +-10 point variance over what these charts represent.

Guys, although I am aware that unlike the In Center GMAT, Online GMAT does not offer any official break between the Quant and Verbal section, but is there a breather between the two sections?
As in do you get sometime, 2 mins or so, after the Quant section ends and before the Verbal section starts? Probably a timed screen displaying the instructions regarding the upcoming section or does the first verbal section pop up immediately after the one ends the Quant section ?
Please share your inputs and experiences regarding this.

No, you do not get a “breather”, as the exam prompts you to continue from Q to V.

Hi guys,
I wanna report my in-center exam to a few schools but when I click on "Order Score Reports" the page doesn't open and gives me error. It gives me the same error when I click on register for a new in-center exam. Does anyone else get the same errors?

Hi DivyanshuGupta61,

Despite what others have claimed, it is not true that you proceed directly from the Quant to the Verbal section after submitting your final answer on Quant. Instead, there is a brief transition screen notifying you that the Quant section is over, and that the Verbal section is about to begin, along with a 30-second countdown timer (and some Verbal instructions, if I remember correctly).

Don't stand up, leave your seat or go off-camera for any reason during this time, however--this 30-second respite does NOT count as an official break, and your GMAT Online scores will be cancelled if you do so.

Yes, that's what I was looking for, a 30 sec transition, where in I would be getting timed screen probably listing the instructions for the Verbal section. That amount of time is good enough to catch a break and start off the next section.

guys, anyone knows if we can use 4g wifi modem for the online exam?

I tried it but the system test used to pass sometime and sometime it used to fail. I don't think 4g dongle wifi is not reliable.

You have to be sure this wont create an issue on the test day

Hi GMATClub members,

My Online GMAT experience was a nightmare.
The test was scheduled at 5.30 am on 31st August 2020.

Before I could complete the test, I received an Alert: Your exam has been disabled. Please contact Pearson Vue.

The proctor called me and told me thatseveral clients taking the GMAT Online exam are facing the issue and apologized profusely. The technical glitch was on their end. He asked me to postpone the exam. The next exam was scheduled on 02 September at 6.30 am.

Guess what, on 02 September, there was no BEGIN EXAM link on my dashboard.

I reached out to them via phone/email, etc and that said that they will revert back in 3-5 business days(Excludes Saturday and Sunday).

Their response time is over today. I am yet to receive any communication.

I have reached out to them several times over this week and I am super-concerned how things will pan out.

Exam causes a lot of stress and anxiety issues and GMAC/PerasonVue guys are like "Oh,write here on my online chat, I ll get back in a week"

I have R1 deadlines looming in.
Not really started working on the essays and Resume.

What would you advise?

Hey guys,
I have used Jiofi(for reference of Indian aspirants) and there was no trouble. In our area, jiofi has better speed than wired broadband and thus made more sense to use it. I had researched a lot about this and thus wanted to help whomever I can!!

What does 'looming in' mean?
Yale's deadline is next week while MIT's is 3 weeks from now...If you haven't even started with neither the essays nor the resume and are still busy with a GMAT retake you might be on a pretty tight schedule for some schools...

Hey

So I gave my first test center exam, here in Chandigarh, India and to be honest the test center experience was tooo formal for me to absorb. I felt that COVID restrictions are cumbersome and it is difficult to give the exam in Mask. My Score was q47 with v 35 with a score of 680, IR was 5 though my verbal score improved my quant score dropped and to be honest i could feel that while giving the test and I was not sure with many quant questions. I was diagnosed with an eye allergy day before yesterday and i gave the exam with some discomfort with eyes. It is entirely my fault as in run to the test date i took the test lightly and to be honest the last one month has been heavy to me and my family, still my mother encouraged to go for it and start the life again, so I went for it.

I mostly did only OG and Advanced OG questions for quant but i feel that i should look to more hard questions now particularly w.r.t number property and algebra as i was slow there. If anyone can give me the source of good and meaningful quant questions, i will be really thankful.

I will be applying with my 690 to ISB, i will give it a shot with experience as Manager and being the HOD of two departments simultaneously and good recommendation might work. But i will be mainly looking to R2 window with score (hope so improved score) from GMAT Online second attempt.

Cheers!!

Hey Congratulations on scoring 680/690 ?

You could have rescheduled the exam when you got the eye allergy. I am sure if you retake the exam you would score better. All the best for your retake and applications.

UPDATE: An article published today on the Business Because website, a rather transparent PR extension of the mba.com and GMAC websites, indicates that GMAC will extend GMAT Online appointments into 2021, and strongly suggests that "there are plans to transition to a permanent solution."
