Hello Gmatclub, I’ve been a long time reader but first time poster. I took the GMAT a month ago (online) and received 710 (unofficial). It was under administrative review until yesterday, when they informed me that they were cancelling my scores due to a supposed VPN violation. I know for sure that I did not use a VPN during my exam, but I have been unable to contact GMAT customer support to appeal since it is the weekend.
I have a deadline for a school tomorrow that I will miss if this is not resolved. Can anybody give any suggestions on what I should do?

Hi. Sorry about the score getting canceled and the whole administrator review process.
With the deadline being a day or two away, it’s not a lot you can do especially since business school staff are out for the weekend.
Appealing the violation decision is time consuming with that deadline but I think your best shot is to apply with your current score that you have from memory. At the same time, contact the school and tell them that your score has been flagged for administrative review and that you were appealing the process and that if you cannot get it to be reportable within two weeks, then within two weeks after that you will take the test again. Basically, guaranteeing that you will have a score within a month. Do you want them to consider your application in and make sure they don’t push you off. you want to be factual. Do not exaggerate. Provide the date of the exam, the date when you heard from the GMAC and future dates as well that you will need to hold. You cannot be late on those dates. This is your chance to demonstrate your resilience, your ability to recover from an unexpected setback, and not blaming anyone but rather focusing on getting the job done.

Thank you so much for your reply. I will definitely retake the GMAT if they do not accept my appeal.
Unfortunately, it is a little late for this particular school since the application deadline was actually earlier, the deadline tomorrow is for all the supporting materials (including official GMAT score reports) to arrive.
It’s interesting to mention that I actually took my exam on January 2nd and it took them until February 4th to get back to me and to tell me that my scores were cancelled (which is more than 20 business days).
I will definitely contact the school and hope for the best but I fully accept that I might not be able to make this deadline (due to a reason out of my control). Still, I do appreciate the support. Thanks a lot.
