Guys - totally with you!

Let me share my GMAT journey.
I started by taking diagnostic and I scored 690. Then I joined group classes at one of the institutes in Delhi (my worst decision) and prepared for 2 months to get my score decreased from where I was even before I started preparing for GMAT.
Recently took my GMAT 2nd time and improved from 680 to 750. I tried a lot of private tutors after my first attempt and finally found Rajiv through Apex Tutors in Gurgaon. Let me share my opinion working with Rajiv.

Pros:

1. Excellent knowledge of GMAT.
2. Very Dedicated and highly motivating.
3. Amazing execution skills - really out of the world.
4. Extremely good question bank - most of the questions I encountered in GMAT are really close to what we practiced together.

Cons:

1. I had to be very flexible with the timings to have sessions with him, I mean he can give you some really weird times if you need an unplanned session.
2. Few people may find him a little expensive but he is definitely worth it.

Conclusion - I owe my success in GMAT to Rajiv. Now when I look back at the time when I was preparing for GMAT the 2nd time, I believe working with him was the best decision I made.

All the best folks!

You guys are awesome!

Thanks for sharing the info. I too got connected with Rajiv and bravo - this guy is genius. The way he solves any problem, is simply mind-blowing. I was just not sure if he is the right guy, but after seeing so many positive things about him everywhere on the net - I finally planned a session with him.

My first session was ok, but starting next session I asked him a lot of 800 level questions and he was solving all the questions with such ease and simultaneously taught me how should I be solving those problems.

To be honest his approach is very unorthodox but extremely effective.

I was unable to improve on my previous high 710, but now I started scoring 51 in the last 3 mocks I took.

This guy Rajiv is simply out of this world. Funny how come such tutors are not available with Princeton or Veritas Prep.

I asked him and he previously taught with Manhattan Prep in US for 6 years. So definitely wealth of experience with amazing execution skills.

I give him perfect 5 stars. He is, in my opinion, miles ahead of any private tutor in Delhi or Gurgaon, for sure. I myself have worked with 6 to 8 private tutors for GMAT in Gurgaon and Delhi but he is class apart.

I have finally taken a new date for my 3rd attempt, target 780. Over ambitious huh....

Maddy Signing off

Cheers

Hi Everyone,

Thanks a lot to all the knowledgeable members of this forum, who have helped me whenever required over the last 6 months.

Special thanks to my friend Nicole (750) for guiding me from day 1 of my prep. As she was also tutored by Rajiv, she helped me and my brother to connect to Rajiv for private tutoring.

Looking at my GMAT prep journey I can sincerely recommend Rajiv to anyone who can shell out that extra money required for private tutoring. And in my opinion it is totally worth it.

I am 99% confident that I could not have scored 740 without the expert guidance and super motivation of Rajiv (read team) and my brother is 100% sure that he could not have scored 2310 on the June 6 SAT with perfect 800 in Maths, without Rajiv and his team.

I wanted to make sure that I get a good score on my first attempt so that I can apply for 1st round of applications and looks like everything is falling in place for me.

Finally a very big thanks to Rajiv. I can now echo Nicole that Rajiv is really the God as far as GMAT or SAT is concerned.

I request everyone here to please let me know of the best counselor in Delhi or NCR region as I really want to apply for the first round of applications.

Thanks for the support as always!

Hello - Since this thread is about private GMAT tutoring in Gurgaon or India, I share my GMAT prep experience in India.

I have been fortunate to meet Rajiv Sharma (apextutors.in) for my GMAT preparation - personalized one to one sessions.

To be honest it was more than 10 years since I last studied anything remotely close to Quant, so the idea to take GMAT was scary. But since I wanted to go for it, my old friend Parul invited me to India for GMAT prep.

I was not sure if going to India for my GMAT prep would be a good idea, but since her brother was also tutored by Rajiv, and he scored 770 in GMAT, I took this chance. Also she was so adamant that private sessions for GMAT tutoring with Rajiv will be the best that I could get anywhere, I moved to Gurgaon to meet my best friend and of course for my GMAT prep as well.

My only worry was the communication issue. Being an American, the accent could be difficult to understand in India but since Rajiv had experience working with top US organizations for GMAT and SAT preparation, I was kind of confident of making it happen.

When I met Rajiv for the first time, we had a good discussion and we figured out how to go about my GMAT prep, the only issue that he does not have any time slot available to accommodate me. Finally after a week, I got a dedicated time slot from Rajiv.

And as it turned out, after 2 months intensive Quant prep with Rajiv, I scored a PERFECT 51 in QA and an overall score of 780. OMG - doing so many tests with Rajiv finally paid off.

Besides getting a good score, the last 3 months are kind of the best time I have had in my life as I visited a lot of places in India. Honestly the people here are amazing.

Still keeping my fingers crossed and applying to the B-schools of my liking and hoping for the best.

Thanks a ton to Parul and Rajiv. You guys rock.

Hey Lesa,

Bingo!

I have had my fair share of private tutors and it was not clicking before I met Rajiv.

Here is how I rate him for sessions we had:

10 on 10 - GMAT knowledge
10 on 10 - QA
10 on 10 - DS
8 on 10 - English Accent - 6 years in US but still not American acccent.
9 on 10 - VA
10 on 10 - Structuring the entire course and every session.

Overall, almost 10 on 10.

He is a thorough professional and excellent knowledge of what he teach.

I can definitely recommend him to anyone eyeing top GMAT score.

Cheers,
Graham

Hmm...looks like some observation.

Since you guys haven't met Rajiv, so I can give some benefit of doubt. But here, in my opinion, his students are creating awareness that we can significantly improve our scores with right guidance.

I, being one of his students, can surely say that I wouldn't have scored that well if it was not Rajiv guiding throughout.

And that is for everyone's benefit if we can share an honest feedback on public forums so that other students can also be benefited.

Lastly, someone who has taken GMAT 6 times with an average score of 750, needs marketing - naahh...

Wish everyone taking GMAT best of luck!

And wish me luck - applied to 13 B-schools in the first round. :)

Cheers

Here is another one...okkk..

See its ok if students of Rajiv are creating "awareness". I also completely agree with the fact that people should share information here...good or bad. Who knows someday someone may find it useful. I don't care if rajiv is best or not, but praising somebody like this definitely alarm people. Also, Its ok if Rajiv is marketing himself, but not like this. He could have simply said ..ya i can teach ..etc etc..

You mention in your post dated 03 Aug that people of this forum have helped you for the past 6 months, when in fact you joined this forum on 30 July..

Anyway you do your marketing stuff.. i can understand that. Every GMAT institute/ tutor needs marketing and they are even doing it on this forum also but in a genuine way. So, please don't mislead people who are running pillar to post just to see a slightest improvement to their score.

Good luck for your B school applications though.

Regards

Let me add my 2 cents as well 8-)

First of all, I know Rajiv as a GMAT instructor. I wanted him to tutor me but I was put off by his charges.

He may be the best instructor around, but I don't care because I could not afford him.

On your point Jimmy, it's not looking marketing to me, as I contacted him without even coming to GC. I don't even think that someone will ever come to GC to find any instructor. Google is there for everyone. Rajiv is the best GMAT instructor in Gurgaon/NCR region as per GOOGLE.

Coming on top of page 1 on Google is no mean feat, AND if you are ranked 1st by Google personally I don't see a reason why you should be bothered about marketing any more.

Another fraudulent coaching publicity

One must be super naive and have an IQ of a 8 year-old to fall for this marketing gimmick !!

The above posters all create accounts in the months from June to September 2015 (4 months period). Brag and boast about this Rajiv, give one another Kudos, and then disappear. Each of them making not more than 1 or 2 posts.
