stupandaus: thanks for the info. When did you get the e-mail telling you that your application was complete and your status changed to "under review". Trying to get a feel for their average review time.

thanks!

Received the e-mail 12/19/12 around noon CST. Checked my application after and the status had been changed to "Interview and Review."

As far as submission, my application was submitted the night before the deadline (11/28/12). Looks like just about 3 week review time for my case.

What I meant, was when did you get the e-mail saying "Your file is now ready for review by the admissions committee." ? Haas sends this after you submitted, once they have verified it is all ready for review.

I am guessing this the time at which they actually start reading your application. (I received that mail yesterday)

You may already be aware of this but at Haas interview carries more weight than it does at other schools. And good luck :)

For me, I was less spooked and more heartbroken it wasn't an interview invite. Still patiently waiting...

Did you apply R1 or R2? I'm a R2 applicant and got the email as well. What are they expecting me to do - email the student reps and say hi?! Ugh.

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't even get the rep email, was scratching my head after reading the posts here. Just got the acknowledgement yesterday that my app is ready for review.

Sigh, I suppose so. Thank you. To be frank, IDK what's going on with Haas this year. Such small number of invites that went out (or it seems so on this forum)...

I applied R2. Saw the Haas email and immediately thought/hoped it was an invite. Sadness.

Looks like US based R1 applicants are out of luck? Since they are already inviting R2 applicants. Ah well..

I don't understand how they operate at all. It seems like it would be super confusing to be receiving new applications before they even finish reviewing the ones they do have. I think Haas is trying to manipulate their yield (by seeing who withdraws their applications due to unusual round deadlines) and to make decisions with more information (by having rounds overlap). It's kind of like they're hoarding applications to see what else comes in.

I'm lucky to have admits elsewhere, but their timeline really messes with us! Their process is decreasing my interesting, and I bet I'm not the only one...

Agreed. And their emails.
