I just found out about HBS 2+2 so I'm a little late to the party, but should still be able to get the application in before R3.

I understand that HBS 2+2 is super competitive, so is there any idea in me applying?

B.Sc and M.Sc in Computer Science from top 1 technical university in Sweden. 4.7/5.0 GPA
B.Sc in Business (taken in parallell) from top 5 university in Sweden. 4.1/5.0 GPA
A couple of extra-curriculars with leadership experience, including one major project with 27 people reporting to me and a budget of $80000.
Internships in a global Swedish tech company and largest Swedish independent financial advisor.
710 GMAT
Job offers from several consulting firms (hopefully MBB as well, final round next week) for upcoming fall.
My passion is within tech, so the purpose of my MBA would be to get the foundation and credibility to start my dream tech company.

I feel like all the needed parts are there, but that everything is a bit too weak.
GPA good, but not stellar. Extra-curriculars good but too few. Internships not super impressive. GMAT a bit low. Etc...

What do you think?

Fair chance of making it into interview, just develop more skills such as hobbies etc and softwares in management, as swedish you must have access to lots of resources, use them. Get in contact with HBSguru and I think you'd be good. Just know that HBS is not a deadend, its a start, so many more top US universities are there. Don't shut doors for opportunities.

Work experience and leadership: Interned and accepted offer to top-tier boutique investment bank in NYC following graduation. Strong internship working at credit fund the summer before. Multiple leadership roles in school clubs/organizations
Post MBA goals: Work in private equity with a focus on impact investing
Anything else?
Recommendation letters from supervisor at each internship. Expecting the rec's to be personal and quite strong.

Fairly good chances. You are what a channel of MBA admissions calls "Gold" school people. MICHIGAN ROSS has a good impact on profile. And Harvard is looking for implicit Leaders so you must ensure that you show your talents in your essays. The essays are important for interview call. Just take a deferred entry one year later instead of two. If you are truly a person born with the quality, you have a fair chance of getting in. My predictions 25%( Very high ).

Your profile is really good wrt your competitors, but Harvard 2+2 is meant for exceptional candidates only. I'll say, prepare intensely for GMAT; if you score good in it(say 730+) then you have a chance. No one can exactly tell that if you gonna make it, as there are very few seats.

Hi all,
I'd like to kindly ask you an evaluation of my profile:
- Male, from western European country, 23 years old.
- B.Sc. with honors and multiple scholarships in industrial engineering. Good engineering school (not at the level of ETH or UK top tier schools but very good nationally and internationally). GPA 3.9 out of 4
- Currently pursuing a 2-year in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Finance (it's very similar to a Business Administration master). GPA is 3.6 or 3.7.
- Currently pursuing an honors program with focus on innovation management.
- Many international experiences: during my university studies I had 4-6 months periods of study in Germany, Netherlands, Spain. Very good schools.
- 5 months internship in tier 2 tech firm as a consultant, 2 months summer internship in a strategy consulting firm (strategy team of a big 4, e.g. Strategy&/Monitor/Parthenon) in the same place where I study and where I am from.
- Founder of a student professional club about tech, president for 2 years of this.
- President of another professional club (1 year).
- GMAT: 720, low IR and AWA though.
- With the school, I am working on a design project for a cultural heritage site.
- Ielts 7.5, but gave it 3 years ago and I believe it has expired.

Career goals: after graduation -> strategy consulting (or tech).
After MBA: tech industry.
Mind that I am not really planning to retake GMAT. Is not great and I could do better. But I hate it and I consider not worth to spend time on it (I took it more than 1 year ago and I should study for at least 2 full weeks to improve it).

What do you think are my chances? I hope they are good since I don't think there are many European applicants. I know also that I lack of volunteering experience, I am a blood donor, I was a little bit involved in local politics and I hope the design project counts as a "volunteering" experience.

Areas that I would focus on is outlining a clearer career plan, particularly a plan about the two years before commencing MBA program as well as it's relationship with your long-term plan. A few comments below:

Academics: You have strong academics, which is great! Your GMAT is below the class median (740). That said, I agree with you that you should focus your time on submitting a strong application and retaking the IELTS (which has expired) instead of retaking the GMAT. be sure to continue on a strong trajectory in your current program, so there are no issues there.

Experiences: As to your experiences, they look great. I would spend some time outlining a plan of action for the two years before you commence your MBA studies and post/long-term plans. Hello peeps.

Requesting a kind soul to critically evaluate my profile too.

I am a 26 year old (male) Chartered Accountant from India.

On completion of my CA in Jan 2015 I continued working in the Dead Advisory department of a Big 4 for 2 years approx. before moving on to a boutique deal advisory firm where I worked for another 2 years. During my stint at Deal Advisory, I practiced tax and regulatory along while ensuring commercials are not disrupted. Few marquee projects I have handled/worked upon include:

a. Pre-deal IPO structuring of a USD 1.5 Billion dollar Indian company. (Had extensive meetings and discussions with the top management to understand the commercial complexities involved which were dealt later in a tax and regulatory efficient manner) (Note - we head on faced and solved each problem we were able to get our minds on)

b. Deal advisory and structuring of a INR 1100 crore investment (Included negotiations and discussions with two large PEs over a period of 6 months. Provided extensive learning on how to negotiate and effectively communicate on the deal table)

Present stint (since the past 3 months) - working at my family CA firm and also acting as an advisor to a CBSE school. Reason for shifting out of Deal Advisory - the department seems fixed on a province and I donot see myself working solely at M&A transactions after 5 years. Further, at my own firm, I am undertaking audits, other newly incorporated taxes, laws etc. which I believe every Chartered Accountant should have working knowledge of which was missing at Deal Advisory. To add more, acting as an advisor to a school is an eye opener for me as it involves streamlining the operation and strategizing. One key event I have advised and implemented is:

- Helping stablise the transportation facility for students along with the principal and the bus contractor (no. of students, 1100) - student safety being paramount, evaluating assumptions and circumstances to check any flaws in the bus system. Further, presently, reviewing the system on an ongoing basis to detect and solve any flaws.

AIM OF DOING A MBA: Leadership quotient + all around development through a General MBA + Understanding the global context of education and the possible opportunities that may lie ahead in the field of education.

SOCIAL OBJECTIVE: Being able to provide world class education to students of all background.

GMAT score - As per current practice tests, hoping 700+

I find your profile really interesting and know there are a plethora of opportunities for you to develop your skills and business. That said, there is a bit of uncertainty (still figuring things out) that comes across in your message, which is ok; however, for a competitive application to a top tier MBA program, you require a bit more clarity of goals and how you intend to use the MBA to propel your business/venture. As to the GMAT, you should aim for a 730+ to be competitive.

Hi I'm a 23 y/o female from South-East Asia, wanting to apply for HBS 2+2 or other early deferred MBAs (eg. Yale, MIT etc).

Background:
Undergrad: Top 10 uni globally, graduated with first class honours in engineering (top 5 in class, won several academic prizes)
Postgrad: Public policy in Oxbridge (incoming)

GRE: 161 (v), 169 (q) - will retake

Internships:
- 2 done with national govt, 1 was a research internship
- 1 internship with startup on biz dev

Extracurriculars:
- started a social enterprise in uni (won several prizes for it), starting a non-profit on entrepreneurship in home country, have several leadership positions in uni (committee - president / vice-president)

- volunteering with a non-profit which focuses on youth dev and entrepreneurship

- also awarded a govt scholarship

I will be working with my national govt for several years focusing on science & policy, and want to use the MBA to move further into entrepreneurship and VC. I am an Indian male.

Background: Civil Engineering
Undergrad Information: 8.9/10 CGPA, Department Topper for Civil Engineering, Continuous 100% scholarship for all 4 years based on previous years performance.
The college is ranked 37 according to the government of India but it is one of the Top 5 private colleges in India. I chose it because of the scholarship and distance from my home.
GMAT: 710 (Q49 V38 AWA5 IR8) first attempt(was sick that day) and 770 (Q50 V45 AWA5 IR8) on the second attempt
WE: no full-time work experience as I am applying for the deferred programme
Leadership: Have been actively involved in numeorus activities on campus. Most notably I have worked for three years organising the annual Model United Nations Conference where I worked my way up to the position of Director-General with over 100 people working under me. Outside of campus, I have also been involved in social work. I have worked for two years with an NGO working for the rights of women and children in mainly an editorial role but contributing on the ground as and when required.
I have completed my certifications in Lean Management and Lean Six Sigma from the British Standards Institute as well as many certifications in Data Presentation and Project Management from Coursera.

Post MBA Goals: Finance has always been of great interest to me. I want to get into Venture Capital (maybe Impact Investing in particular) as I have always been interested in entrepreneurship and I like meeting new people and listening to new ideas. India is a great growth market for VC and I want to come back to India and contribute to the growth story here.

I plan to work in an early stage startup or a VC fund in the two year after graduating and start my CFA.

Hi everyone. Just putting some feelers out for what I need to improve to increase my chances of getting into a top 10 MBA after I graduate in DEC 2020. Would love feedback on what I should improve about myself to strengthen a 2+2 application, or a regular application in 4~5 years.

Your best guess at what you will discuss in your main essay
I think I would present a discussion most focussed on the ambition I have to always challenge myself to do the best I possibly can. Particularly, moving overseas as a 20 year old to undertake an internship and thesis at BMW. Furthermore, I would discuss my leadership qualities and the support I give to students around the the engineering association I formed from scratch at university.
