Long time lurker, first time poster here and I’m in a little dilemma that hopefully you can help me out with.
Here is the problem; I have an opportunity a week from today to take the GMAT, a test that that I don’t feel ready for. My definition of ready is attaining a minimum score of 700.
I have spent the past 3+ months studying intensively in ambition to attain a score of 700. By intensively, I mean multiple hours every single day without a day off: something I regret now. It seems all this intense studying has finally caught up to me and I’m experiencing an
unprecedented burnout…..one important week before my test.
Here is the kicker; I booked a three week vacation to go to Japan the day after my scheduled test to get some R&R. However, per my latest practice exam, coupled with the extreme burnout, I have extreme doubt that I can attain much less improve my score to 700 with less than a week away.
My alternative is to push the test out after my trip. Being that this trip is three weeks long, I figure that I need one month to get back into rhythm of studying and re-prepare myself for the test: ultimately taking the test in November.
What should I do? Should I just say hell with it and take the test now, keep in mind I cannot financially afford two tests, or should I take three weeks off studying and delay my test by almost two months.
The following are my practice exam scores. I have sound knowledge of all material being tested; however, my biggest issue holding my scores back is timing and pace throughout the test. I panic way too easily during the tests which ultimately clouds my judgment on problems I otherwise know how to solve. Funny because I have gone through the OG16 problems twice over using
MGMAT Navigator and my timing has been great.
