Hi attempttoo,

The fluctuations in your CAT Scores could be due to a variety of factors. Before we discuss the possible issues, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) What type of study routine have you been following? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs and what were the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH?

Goals:
3) What is your goal score?
4) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Thank you both for the responses.

Rich - I've provided additional detail below. Any help would be appreciated.

1) Study routine. I've used a combination of Veritas and GMAT Official prep. Been putting 3-4 hours daily.

Official Exam #1: 690. January 2019: Q47/V38
Veritas Exam #1: 640. April 2019: Q43/V35
Veritas Exam #2: 610. April 2019: Q43/V31
Veritas Exam #3: 650. May 2019: Q43/V36
Veritas Exam #4: 660. June 2019: Q46/V35
Veritas Exam #5: 700. June 2019: Q48/V38
Veritas Exam #6: 710. June 2019: Q48/V39
Official Exam #2: 720. June 2019: Q49/V40
Official Exam #3: 670. June 2019: Q48/V34
Official Exam #4: 640. June 2019: Q44/V35

3) Goal score: 730
4) this Saturday, July 6
5) April 2021
6) Ivy leagues

I wasn't feeling as well when I wrote Official Exam #4, so that could be the case.

At the moment, I'm (1) going through all questions I have gotten wrong on the exam + error log (2) reviewing areas of weaknesses (3) writing another exam tomorrow to see how I score.

Thank you for the help!

Hi attempttoo,

Since your Official GMAT is in 2 days, you should NOT try to do any heavy studying before then (so NO CATs and NO 'cramming') - a bit of light review would be okay, but you would be better served by getting some extra rest so that you can go into Test Day calm, clear-headed and ready to work. In simple terms, you're too close to your Test Date to learn anything "new" - and you don't want to do too much work and potentially "burn out" a bit before Test Day. After you've taken your Official GMAT, you should post back here and we can discuss the results.
