Ethnicity
Hispanic dual citizen Mexico USA
Fluent Spanish and English

I have a pretty descent illegal immigration to citizenship story

26 years old

Gmat 720 48Q 41V 8IR 6AWA

GPA 3.34 from Texas State University (average college) bachelors in accounting

30 months of experience, will have 42 by the time I enroll

Work for $60bln commercial bank. In the oil field services lending group. Underwrote over 600million of new and existing credit facilities. Helped companies through IPOs, acquisitions, bankruptcies, etc.

Did lead an analyst only set of meetings to help the bank determine why analysts were leaving for other banks (had approval from executive management to do this). Many of the ideas we came up with were implemented for long lasting value add.

Extracurricular currently includes the HEART program where I volunteer for an organization that helps dissablied adults work for good wages. They run concession stands at sporting events (Houston. Rockets, shell open) and since they are not allowed to handle the money the organization has volunteers run the registers and help the workers(people with dissabities).

Goal is to work for a top strategic consulting firm for 5/10 years and then transfer to industry in a management position.

I am targeting HBS Columbia Wharton and Kellogg

Please let me know if I would have a chance.

Your profile definitely looks very promising but as you are considering some of the top schools out there every little detail counts, so I would need to hear your backstory and other differentiating factors in order to give you a reliable evaluation. I can totally understand not wanting to share such personal information on a public forum which is why I would suggest you write to ARINGO for a free and non-binding consultation here: https://aringo.com/mba-process-registration/ (You can link back to this post if you want so we know it’s you)

Mainly what I am missing in order to give you a good evaluation is that interesting story you mentioned, and any stories/examples of achievements or anything else of interest that could be brought up in essays, especially from your working experience, but it could be something else as well.

Hi, I'm very enthusiastic about your profile and I love that you've actually already identified some things that would separate you and set you apart in the process already. The kind of shows that your head is in the right place. For your profile group your statistics are wonderful. Of course there's a lot of information that would need to fill in the grid but so far so good and I think you have a lot of reason to be optimistic. However that said I do think that you should maybe diversify the school's just a tiny bit. Throw in maybe a Ross or a Duke or something. Are you planning to apply via the Consortium? That would enable you to expand your reach more easily. Please feel free to get in touch with me if you'd like more information, you sound interesting :-)

HBS depends on how strongly you can articulate your personal story, and how it has shaped you to take up leadership positions - not in a company necessarily, but as a global citizen. Wharton might be a little difficult also.

Columbia and Kellogg will be par applications - a higher GMAT can make things easier everywhere.

Best,
Karthik
