Hi GMAT Community,
First off - I want to say how appreciative I am of this forum. It's helped me understand so much about the GMAT.
Here's my situation. Took a Diagnostic on
MGMAT, got a Q37:V32:580. My target score is a 720, and I take the GMAT on May 13th, so I have around 11 weeks left until the exam.
I am using the full online and text
MGMAT self-paced course. I started the course on January 20th, have just been focusing on the material so far and am on Week 6 so far. I am planning to finish the actual Quant and Verbal material in the course by March 1st. My next steps are to take another cat on March 1st and then review it until the test. This will give me roughly 10 weeks of pure review and being able to dig deeper into my weak areas.
My CATs so far:
-Diagnostic
MGMAT CAT 1 – Q37:V32:580
- 2/1 –
MGMAT CAT 2 – Q37:V35:600
- 2/14 –
OG CAT 1 – Q41:V33:610
- 3/1 -
MGMAT CAT 3 - Planning on taking this once I finish all the
MGMAT course material
- a CAT at the end of every week for 10 weeks to track my progress and to identify what still needs improvement
- 5/13 - REAL GMAT - TARGET SCORE 720
This leaves me 10 weeks to study after I have already touched everything in the
MGMAT books as well as reviewed problems a few times a week on GMAT Club.
My questions are:
1) Withall the general and basic material under my belt (or at least what read/reviewed in MGMAT), how should I optimize my review/studies for the next 10 weeks, given that I still need 100+ score improvement?
2) Should I identify my weak topics, and spend each day reviewing topic by topic? Or should I just run mixed practice sets daily?
3)I am currently a student, so I have roughly 6 hours per day for the next 10 weeks to study. Is a score improvement from 610 to 720 attainable within this time frame?
4) Are there any other resources I should be using? I'm currently using: MGMAT Guides, OG 2020, and select GMAT Club websites. I will also purchase high-quality additional CATs (most likely OG 3 & 4) once I run out of MGMAT and OG CATS, so I can track my progress. Are there any other materials worthwhile to purchase?
