My aim is to get atleast Q48 .I have asked for GMAT club tests access yesterday(filled the form), I have purchased this egmat thing and from which got GMAT club access details.I am still waiting to get it approved.Once I get it, I will clear my basics from MGMAT ,will solve related OG and then solve topicwise from GMAT club test 500-600-700 level.Would that be a good method?

Hi 89renegade,

In a prior post, you mentioned that you were scheduled to take the GMAT on June 18th; but here you've stated that you have 1 month to improve. What is your exact Test Date? And have you taken any CATs besides the MGMAT CATs?

Hello Rich,

I have rescheduled the date as the target was not practically achievable and now it is on 27 august. I have not taken CATs other than MGMAT yet.I had taken GMAT prep free test 1 but the score was terrible (440) but that was long back at the start of the preparatin or just in between somewhere but I was not even half prepared and had taken it to get the feel of the test.So practically two tests are still remaining and I am about to purchase Exam pack 1.

Hi 89renegade,

With a Test Date in late August, you have LOTS of time to continue studying and improve. If it's been at least 2 weeks since you've taken a FULL CAT (with the Essay and IR sections), then I suggest that you plan to take one of the FULL GMAC CATs sometime soon (perhaps this weekend) - I'd like to see how you score on a FULL Official CAT. That score result will give us the most accurate information to assess your current skills and plan your studies for the next 2+ months. When you have that score, you should post back here.

Hello Experts,
Bunuel bb
I need to know some strategy about how to use GMAT CLUB TEST?
I have 6 months GMAT CLUB TEST membership and I am desperate to improve my QUANT.
I have 1 month to improve Quant.

Resources that I have for Quant- MGMAT guides all of them,GMAT question pack 1,OG 13,OG quant review 2016,GMAT CLUB TEST membership
Test/Mocks- GMAT prep 2 tests,Gmat exam pack 1 and 2, MGMAT 6 tests,GMAT CLUB TESTS(same as quizzes 1500 questions, 30 CATS)
Are the above resources enough

Now I have score Q38-40 on MGMAT full CATs.I am making random mistakes and no topic is upto the mark.DS and PS both having 50% .I need to gear up and overcome the Quant complex which I am having.Kindly suggest some structured plan or strategy.Example- Topicwise improvement or Basic improvement or what to focus on initially .How should I begin ?

Eagerly waiting to get some information and guidance

it does not look like you have access....
But in your case, you have everything to work with. I am not sure what your goal is (you may want to start there) but if you are looking for high 40's, you should start chipping away at Arithmetic and get some books that cover that area - MGMAT or Veritas Prep or Kaplan Math Workbook. Make sure you cover Arithmetic, Geometry, and Word problems at the absolute minimum. Don't move from one topic to the next unless you have 90%+ accuracy.

Hello GMAT CLUB,

I took my exam yesterday this time it was no Mock test it was Official GMAT test, I messed up big time as I scored 420 (Q 26 V 23 IR-5) and this has shattered my hopes completely to apply for B schools this year.

Background-I am studying and preparing for GMAT since last 7 months.
Stuff I prepared from,
All Manhattan guides for basics
Quant- OG,Reviews,Gmat club,500-700 level selected problems difficulty wise from GMAT CLUB.
Verbal- OG,Reviews,E-GMAT

Mock tests-
Manhattan 1-590 March
Manhattan 2-590 March
Gmat prep 1 - Just gave it as diagnostic test- 420 in Jan 2016
Gmat prep 2- June14 640 (without IR) Q46 V32
Gmat prep 3- August 13 Exam pack 1 640 (Full length) Q44 V35 IR 3
Gmat prep 4- August 15 Exam pack 1 680 (Full length) Q44 V40 IR 3
Gmat prep 5 -August 21 Exam pack 2 640 (Full length) Q44 V34 IR 3
GMAT EXAM- August 27 420 (Q 26 V 23 IR-5)

Quant- My weakness- I tend to learn sums and hesitate to try problems out of my comfort zone.Very weak in basics and tend to make mistakes on 500-600 level sums which are twisted and designed to confuse you to analyze your clarity wrt that subject/topic.How to improve basics, what is the process to have deep understanding on various topics.I am not able to solve problems which tend to test multiple topics especially ratios/percentages , rate work and percentage etc (I hope you got my point)
Verbal- I think I know but not able to perform.

I have solved from above mentioned study materials and know the answers already of the questions. So in this case how should I restudy.

I completely feel lost and devastated. After all this preparation I never expected 420 its like I gave diagnostic test without studying.I need to gear up and need some guidance on my plan.

AIM- ONLY AIM THAT I HAVE IS 700.I AM READY TO DO ANYTHING FOR IT.

Regards,
Saurabh

Hi Saurabh,

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. If you can answer a few questions, then we should be able to figure this out:

When you took your CATs:
1) Did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Did you take them at home?
3) Did you take them at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
4) Did you ever do ANYTHING during your CATs that you couldn't do on Test Day (pause the CAT, skip sections, take longer breaks, etc.)?
5) Did you ever take a CAT more than once? Had you seen any of the questions BEFORE?
