Hello everyone.
Two weeks ago I got 560 (Q44 V21) in the GMAT Prep mock test and yesterday I did a MGMAT mock test and I got 580 (Q42 V29 --- the worse verbal section was CR). My target score is 600 (I have 99% that with this score I will be accepted in the school I want to apply). Is it possible to increase 20 points in almost one week of full-time study? Do you guys have any suggestion of what should I do in this time?
Thank you very much

Hi everyone.
Some days ago, I created the following post explaining my case:
https://gmatclub.com/forum/how-to-incre ... 32878.html

After almost a year studying, I got 550 today. It was really frustrating for me. However, I'm very willing to continue and achieve my target score (which is 600). I've been searching for many online prep courses but I don't know which one to take. I have a month before the last deadline of my target schools, so I'm planning to have a different preparation for the next 30 days. Which course is good to prepare in 30 days? How can I decide? Most of them have the score improve guarantee, so in my opinion it is worth to try.

Thank you in advance. Any advice is welcome.

What were your mock scores before giving gmat? 560 and 580 right?
So your actual gmat score is not too far from the mock scores.
You can improve in (a bit)verbal and (a bit)quant as well to improve your score.

coming to score guarantee, I heard most of the courses do keep a lot of clauses in their score guarantee policy.
So don't get tempted by guarantee solely.

All the best. :)

Hi guys. Sorry about the delay in my response, I'm not receiving alerts from gmatclub.

Let me try to answer all of the questions so that perhaps you may help me more:
- The score I got in the test was 550 (Q39, V26).
- I pretend to schedule the next test to March 3rd.

Is one month enough to achieve 600? I agree that I need to change my approach and study method, but what different things should I do?

There is no fixed duration. There are people who achieved 770 in a month and there are people who could not cross 650 or 700 in years. I believe you can get more help provided you give details regrading the materials used in your preparation, educational background and other aspects related to gmat.
One thing you can do is browse through the net and go through all the success stories as many as you can.
You get many hints from those and figure out one for yourself.

IMHO I would go with "sentence correction" section more in Verbal part. Because it is about pure remembering things. A little bit less with CR and definitely less with RC.

For Math, take a shot on "Numbers" because they take 50% of all questions and are easy to play with. I would skip geometry and put less attention on algebra then. You may score higher thanks to Probability Theory. Not too many people are good with it and these 1-2 questions put you on another level.

In the end, when I say spend less time, treat it like "lower priority" but definitely DO NOT skip these sections and if possible learn as much as possible. Also, try to find a teacher in Math specialised in GMAT.

I think part of the issue is that you've been studying for a year. That is a very long time! I think a shorter period of time could be more effective.

Hi luigi.roza,

While raising your score 50 points (or more) in one month is doable, your current approach to the GMAT has gotten you 'stuck' in the mid-500s. As such, you cannot simply continue to study in the same ways as before - if you did so, then you would likely score right around 550 again. Given the Scaled Scores from your last Official GMAT, you could pick up all of the missing points that you're looking for in EITHER the Quant or the Verbal sections - so some concentrated study in whichever section you're more comfortable with would likely be the easiest way to get you to your score goal.

I think its easier for you to improve in quant. Focus on your weakest sides in math and you'll definitely improve
