@mbaandbeyond could you help shed light on this?
Sure miniB21 ! Yes, R3 generally tends to be highly competitive for Indian candidates, as many strong applicants apply earlier, potentially exhausting the regional quota.
With a strong profile but a below-average GMAT score, applying in R3 can be challenging due to the limited remaining spots. If feasible, retaking the GMAT could improve your chances, or you might consider applying in an earlier round next cycle. If applying in R3 is your only option, ensure your essays and recommendations are impressive to compensate for the lower GMAT score. It is recommended to apply only when you feel confident about your profile. If you think there is any room for improvement, the best is to work on it and apply accordingly.

If you'd like, we are happy to hop on a 1:1 call with you to learn more about your profile and provide a detailed evaluation and gauge your chances to the best-fit schools. Please feel free to schedule a profile evaluation call according to your convenience. All the very best.

Hi everyone! Congratulations on your admits :) Does anyone know what's the process of being informed about getting a scholarship? Is one informed about it directly during admission and no mention = no scholarship or is there still a chance that this info might come in later? Does anyone have any insight? Thanks!

Hi esteeFF,

Hope this finds you well.

Generally, when offers are rolled out, you are either informed of the scholarship or are told when you will be informed; nonetheless, this is only a general principle; you can always write to the Ad Com and check this.

All the best!

Congratulations to you too esteeFF , best wishes for future.

If you are awarded a Diversity or Achievement Scholarship, you will be informed directly upon admission. If there is no mention of a scholarship in your admission letter, it means you have not been selected for these awards. However, for scholarships that require separate applications, notifications are sent after the application and selection process, typically within specified timelines.

Hi Din10 ! One of our applicants secured an (MBA) admit from INSEAD with a 640 GMAT score, highlighting the school's holistic admissions approach. While a decent GMAT can still be competitive, a strong profile with exceptional work experience, leadership impact, international exposure, and a compelling application is essential. A low score could be a hurdle, especially if your academic or quantitative background, along with other aspects of your profile, does not strongly align with INSEAD's values and expectations. If you are planning to apply in the upcoming round, please feel free to book a free profile evaluation call, we'd love to learn more about your profile, it will help us identify if you can pull out good stories from your experience.

Hi everyone! For LOR for MIM ,do you think 2 professional LOR will be stronger than 1 academic and 1 professional . Additionally,Will an overlap of answers be acceptable if you have 2 professional recommenders from the same organisation? I have 1 year of experience is business consulting at EY and academic excellence too but I feel that academic success is already covered in gpa . What would you suggest?

Hey!

This is a really common question — and the right intake really depends on where you are right now in terms of academics, work experience, test prep, and clarity of goals. Here’s a simple way to think about it:

Target 2026 intake if:
  • You’ll be done with undergrad by 2025 (or early 2026)
  • You’re already preparing (or ready to prepare) for GMAT/GRE, and feel confident about applying by late 2025
  • You’ve done some solid internships or projects, and your goals are fairly clear

Target 2027 intake if:
  • You need more time to improve your profile (internships, scores, extracurriculars)
  • You want to take a gap year or work for a while before applying
  • You’re unsure about your post-master’s career path and want to explore more before committing

If you’re somewhere in between — it’s totally okay. Sometimes speaking to someone who’s been through the process helps. Feel free to reach out to us at AdmitScholar we can help you evaluate your current profile and decide which intake makes more sense for you.

Hi Aaditya,

Deciding which intake to target depends on where you currently stand in terms of your profile for a Master's in Management. All business schools look for the following components while evaluating your profile:-

1. GPA +GMAT/GRE score
2. Demonstrated Interest in the field through 2-3 internships and academic projects
3. 2-3 Letters of Recommendation
4. Clarity about your future goals

Depending on your position in relation to the above components, you should consider targeting the Fall 2026 or 2027 intake. It is always important to remember that if you apply this year with an average profile and then decide to apply again for the Fall 2027 intake next year, you would be considered a reapplicant, and this would significantly reduce your chances of admission next year as well. Please share your profile and I will be better able to help you regarding the above.
