Hi guys,

I have been accepted to IE IMBA with scholarship.
It is a top 8 school but anyway, is it a good choice to go to investment banking or consulting after that?
Or it is better to reapply to another school.
What was your reason to apply to IE?

I think career centre in any school can only do as much. Of course B schools itself are a business and some information is intentionally being kept as vaguely as possible. For example, lets say in Spain where most companies require Spanish fluency and yet the student does not have the fluency in Spanish, therefore it is almost impossible to obtain a job regardless of what the career centre do. One mistake is that they rarely or never explicitly mentions such facts unless these staffs are really asked, I do understand thought that it might create pessimism and a potential decrease on number of applying students.

I think IE has a good brand recognition across continental Europe, nevertheless its strongest influence is on South America and Spain. In general, try to find a school in a country where you want to work in the future. If you are an IE graduate but you aspire to work in London, things such as internships or interviews can be much more difficult and costly. Furthermore, UK companies has an option from LBS, OxBridge, LSE and Imperial graduates to choose from, a fact that makes non UK university graduates in a worse position. Lets say you want to work in other parts of Europe, I suspect that they will need a certain degree of fluency on the countries' language as well. For example to work in Germany/Switzerland you will need a working level of German as well.
