Hi Everyone,
I am an Indian Engineer Female. I gave the GMAT exam today and scored 720. (Q47 and V42). Is my score unbalanced? Will I be able to get into a consulting course at a top MBA B-school (at least within the top 50) with this quant score? I don't know if my GPA is relevant but I got an overall 7.53 out of 10. Any insight would be really helpful.

Congratulations on your good score!
As a test Prep and Admissions expert over the last 15 years, I can certainly say that your score is quite balanced. In fact, despite being an engineer (who are supposed to score naturally higher in Quant) your Verbal score is on the higher side, which already gives a good insight to B-schools about your overall scholastic abilities. In that sense, you have sailed against the tide to secure a high V score, while maintaining a good Q score.
Universities will mostly look into your overall score while gauging your academic merits.
But a good GMAT Score is the first step of the ladder. The more important work lies ahead. You need to focus on your college applications and highlight a strong candidature that sets you apart from other candidates with similar scores/profiles. This is where your essays will play a crucial part and so will knowing which schools to shortlist based on your profile and goals.

I'm fairly sure some other posters will have better information regarding this, but a suggestion to consider would be to simply send an email to your prospective universities and ask them.
