(A) Monday
(B) Tuesday
(C) Wednesday
(D) Thursday

What is the pattern?

Days in a calendar year has cyclicity of 7.

Reference day:- Tuesday

100=14*7+2

98th day from the reference day is Tuesday. 100th day is two days after Tuesday.

hence the 100th day is Thursday.

Given:
    • Jason deposits money at a bank on Tuesday
    • He returns to the bank, after 100 days, to withdraw the money

To find:
    • The day on which he did the withdrawal

Approach and Working:
    • We are given that the deposit day is a Tuesday.
    • Every 7th day after the deposit day day will be a Tuesday, since there are seven days in a week.
      o So, we can say that every day, which is a multiple of 7 from the day of deposit, is a Tuesday.
      o The multiple of 7, that is close to 100 is 98, which is equal to 7 * 14.
      o Thus, the 98th day is a Tuesday.
      o Implies, the 99th day is a Wednesday and the 100th day will be a Thursday.

Therefore, he withdraws the money on a Thursday

Hence, the correct answer is option D.

Note that 7 days after he deposits the money, it is again Tuesday, and every number of days that is a multiple of 7 will again be Tuesday. Thus, we see that 7 x 14 = 98 days later it is a Tuesday. Thus, the 99th day is Wednesday, and the 100th day is Thursday.
