wait listed , oh well thats the 3rd wait list decision i have received this year , whats going on

R2 applicant - my application status has changed to incomplete because my recommenders are yet to submit their forms. The admissions blog said they can wait until Jan 3rd for the recommendations. My recommenders have been really busy over the past 3-4 weeks due to year end activities. They have promised me that it will get done within this week. Will it look bad because I am unable to manage my recommenders? Thanks!
