Congrats to all the admitted students. It is great to see hamm0 and FutureBostonMBA get in as I know they worked really hard on this app.

Unfortunately, I got dinged, but I will wear the red badge with honor. For those other unlucky souls on this forum, lets use this rejection as motivation for R2 apps (if needed).

Thanks CMcAboy. I am sure you'll get into one of the remaining schools you have listed there.

The admissions process is a black box; no use trying to decipher it. You'll be fine. :-D

Hi hamm,

So you are saying that we should not spend time and energy analyzing the rejects, and try to improve upon the weakness.

After looking at my rejected application, I could not find out any significant areas of improvement, apart from networking more with the school adcom and students before I hit submit.

Your thoughts on this.

Has any Indian candidate received an admit from R1 pool?

I am waitlisted without an interview and keen to know how many Internationals (specifically Indians) are in the same situation.
Also would be interesting to know how many re-applicants have been WL - specifially who were waitlisted last year as well?

I spoke to a first year student and he told me don't expect much until April and Cornell would like to see the R2 applicants before deciding whom they would
want to interview from the waitlisted applicants. He did tell me that there are lot of folks who got admitted from waitlist last year provided they were able to show Cornell
as their top choice and could vouch that they will join if offered a place in the class.
He also told me that the number of Indians admitted to the class has been going down over the last couple of years - though this high WL numbers could have a part in it.
Seems Cornell tracks the Yield rate very seriously - more than any of similar ranked schools.

Sorry to hear that mate.

Did you happen to interview during Fall'12 cycle?
How later in the cycle were you informed of not making the cut?

Interviewed during the Fall '12 cycle and then WL'ed. I was kept on the waitlist till August. But I didn't send any updates back then and I didn't pursue the WL cos I took up a new job.

Congratulations to all admits, and good luck to R2/R3 applicants and WL'ed candidates.

I was wondering if anyone has received any information on scholarships offered?

Was told during my call that scholarships are being finalized this week so we should hear by next week. Can't remember exactly, but it sounded like it would arrive with our mailed acceptances.
