For those R2 applicants, I just received an email back from adcom, they will start sending invitations out in the week of Jan 6th after the holiday break. so take a rest please.

My 3rd recommendation reached on the 16th of dec for round 2 whose deadline was the 4th of dec 2013. can anyone tell me whether it will be added in or not. or was it too late?

My 3rd recommendation was submitted by an ex-colleague just a few days ago. Going by the admissions blog post last month, I believe we're still in consideration for R2. "...if you have recommenders struggling to complete the form, you can tell them their final deadline is January 3rd. This gives them a few more weeks and possibly some planned time to write a great letter on your behalf."

guys, make sure you prioritize quality over quantity. Do not rush to meet this deadline if this will affect the quality of your recommendation. Besides, you can always send updates after any deadline. Good luck everyone!

Round 3 is still viable. Round 4 basically became rolling admissions with a hard deadline of April 30, so basically, there's an advantage to applying in March rather than April. Biggest indicator is that there are still scholarship weekends for the first 3 rounds. You won't get in if you don't apply.
